Mission: The FRIENDS OF WEWAK is a nonprofit, charitable organization whose primary purpose is to raise funds for the support of the Catholic Mission Community in Wewak, Papua New Guinea. The primary method of raising funds is through the management of various investments and the distribution of its newsletter, Mission Dateline, which keeps friends and supporters current on Mission activity and its needs.All donations received by the Foundation are sent to the Wewak Mission to be distributed according to their needs or according to the expressed wish of the donor.All Friends of Wewak Foundation operating expenses are paid, not be donations, but by funds raised by the Board of Directors of the Foundation and the Mission Clubs.The organization accepts donations for general use or specific causes. In addition, masses will be said by a missionary priest for special intentions on request.
The Friends of Wewak has sent hundreds or thousands of dollars to the missionaries over the years and has substantially increased the amount of donations in the last three years. The Foundation has no paid staff and continues to send 100% of all donations to the missionaries.
