Mission: To further the preservation and development of vander veer park as a horticulture center and to furthe public's awareness and enjoyment of horticulture
Programs: The friends of vander veer is a nonprofit organization that supports the ongoing restoration and programming efforts at vander veer botanical park. Since 1991, the friends of vander veer have worked with the city of davenport and numerous community groups on park renovation and educational projects, including: 1. Lagoon renovation 2. Addition of a pergola and fountain to the rose garden 3. Installation of the childrens sculpture garden, hosta glade, and majestic hope sculpture 4. Restoration of the grand allee 5. Volunteer programs 6. Display labels and catalog for the tropical/subtropical collection 7. Tree guides 8. Restoration of the stone fountain and surrounding gardens.
