Mission: The mission of the Friends of the Scottsdale Public Library is to garner community support for enhanced and expanded Scottsdale Public Library services, programs, and materials. The Friends assist Library staff in their mission to provide excellent service, foster free access and availability of information, promote innovative service, and cooperate with the Library in its efforts to enrich its resources and facilities. Recognizing the limits of a library system supported by taxes, the Friends of the Scottsdale Public Library, as a nonprofit corporation, believes that the optimum level of service can best be achieved through community involvement and therefore exists to assist the library by encouraging and supporting: 1) excellent and innovative service; 2) free access and availability of information, 3) the enrichment of resources and facilities, 4) social interaction among its members. In order to accomplish its mission, the Friends of the Scottsdale Public Library generates financial support, encourages volunteerism, heightens awareness of the Library system in our community and supports programs, events and services.
