Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Education, Libraries

Mission: The Kingsland Library (a branch of Llano County Libraries) was built by volunteers through public donation and was donated to Llano County about 40 years ago. Five years ago we again raised enough money in the community through donations to build a new library, and we continue to serve the community. The old library was converted to much-used public meeting rooms. No tax funds have gone into the building of Kingsland library. Volunteers help man the library and assist in the reading programs, in book repair, and in many other functions of the library. We will be looking at another building program in the near future as our community is growing at a rapid rate. We are currently looking at a need for $5,000 for new book-shelving as we are rapidly running out of book space. We had planned on tightening the floor space per bookcase as we grew so are all right in the near term for floor space.
