Mission: The Friends of Josi Carreras International Leukemia Foundation was established in 1990 by internationally acclaimed tenor Josi Carreras, a leukemia survivor. The Friends provides funding for medical research into the cause, prevention and treatment of leukemia and related blood diseases. An annual fellowship of $150,000 (payable over 3 years) awarded to outstanding young researchers through international competition.
Programs: The scientific advisory board of the foundation provides endowments for research in the cause, treatment, and cure of leukemia and related hematologic disorders.
