Causes: Environment, Environmental Beautification
Mission: The mission of the Friends of Bowie Nature Park is to preserve, protect, promote and enhance Bowie Nature Park for use by the general public as a nature reserve and park.
Programs: To increase Park usage the Friends have planned anincreasing number of programs and events. Some months it may be projects like debris removal or scaling backovergrown landscaping. Other timesthe offerings are more family friendly, like potluck picnics or informativediscussions about nature related topics such as birds, native plants, etc. Towards the end of the year, theFriends offer a Fireside Holiday Concert. The public is informed of Friends’ activities through local newspapers,an extensive e-mail list and an informative website now linked to the BowieNature Park site hosted by the City of Fairview.
