Mission: The Friends of the Appalachian Center for Craft of Tennessee (FACCT) promotes and supports educational art/craft outreach activities and opportunities and engages in art/craft advocacy in cooperation with the Appalachian Center for Craft.
Programs: The Friends of the Appalachian Center for Crafts of Tennessee (FACCT) present the Annual “Celebration of Craft” on the first (or second) Saturday in April, from 10am-5pm at the Appalachian Center for Craft (ACC) in Smithville, Tennessee. Attendance is free. Featured are: live bands, “Kids Crafts,” silent auction, Visual Art Society (VAS) Sale, craft demonstrations, advocacy booth, and a 10% Gallery discount. FACCT volunteers staff an advocacy booth where attendees are encouraged to sign advocacy letters to their legislators and to Governor Bredesen. FACCT mails letters to appropriate legislators after Celebration. Celebration makes music and art/craft accessible to persons of all ages living in rural and isolated settings surrounding ACC and provides opportunities for arts advocacy!
