Mission: Friends of Sacred Structures is dedicated to the preservation of historic religious structures for active community use, especially those that support vital neighborhood needs. Since 1992, FOSS has assisted over 150 sacred structures through free expert technical assistance, assessments, project management and referral programs
Programs: FOSS assists leaders, who are responsible for historical religious structures, with solving problems related to the maintenance and repair of their facilities to provide safe and functioning conditions for community outreach programs. The Technical Service Team provides services ranging from providing referrals or sources for materials or crafts to provide assistance with conducting comprehensive assessment of facility conditions, developing priorities, formulating plans, securing and evaluating bids, and providing oversight of projects. FOSS has responded to more than 150 organizations.
