Mission: Our mission is to serve the entire lopez island population and regional/national visitors with a centrally located and fully accessible indoor aquatic and wellness center, which will include one lap pool and one additional superheated therapy/teahing pool, for the year-round educational, fitness, wellness, safety, health and recreational benefit of islanders of all ages.
Programs: Lopez kids swim - we offer annual lopez kids swim days to all primary school age children (k-6) including those home and privately schooled. Flip provides transportation, lunches and swim fees for up to 250 individuals over two days. Each year, a percentage of the non-swimmers gain confidence and feel safer in the water. This serves our vision toward helping every person on lopez feel safe in the waterstarting with our precious children. Flip has also installed throw-ring safety buoys at three unprotected water access sites on our island, applauded by the county land bank and island emt and rescue teams.
