Mission: The purpose of the fox-wisconsin heritage parkway is to exemplify and promote the natural, recreational and historic resources within the fox and wisconsin rivers corridor and create additional opportunities for history interpretation, education, recreation, and tourism.
Programs: Promoted the history of the fox & wisconsin rivers corridor and worked to increase recreational utilization of the fox & wisconsin rivers through the following activities: held heritage paddles,restored the little chute lock house, produced signage plan for 17 lock sites, installed and gifted accessible launch landings to neenah, installed alliant hydro dam kiosk, created paddling the fox safety brochure, began work on lower fox water trail map book, and completed research, initial meeting, and grant application for heritage site consortium.
hired interpretive solutions to assist in implementing an interpretive master plan (imp) to provide framework through which the parkway will identify and tell its rich array of stories. The imp considers the needs and wishes of many different audiences, and recommends where, how, and why those stories must be told.
