I am a mikveh guide at mayyim Hayyim from the most recent cohort...cohort 5. From the very first gathering I was stimulated by the wealth of information we received from passionate, well informed teachers. I was especially "lucky" to have a mentor that read every word of my reviews after each class and she has continued te be available and supportive. It is a very meaningful process to be part of someone elses journey...one they have elected to travel that is profound and can be life altering. Mayyim Hayyim is a special " space". It is truly a pleasure to volunteer there and to work with and for Eliza, Carrie and Lisa. I travel a fair distance to be there and on the way I can ask myself " Why are you doing this?". It is a question that is answered the moment i walk through the garden and the door. I am there because what I do matters. Renee Rudolph

A group of friends and I had collected some money which we wanted to use to sponsor the education of students who could not afford to go to college. The Foundation For Excellence does exactly that for economically challenged students in India. 100% of the money that you give is sent to the students as all administrative costs are paid for from a separate trust. The executive director facilitated the educations of 2 students with the funds we could provide him with. He did this in a very expedited manner, even though our funding didnt match any of the processes that they had in place. I would strongly recommend that you "invest" in this NGO as its solving a very important issue very effectively. They make sure that money is only given to students who pass a certain grade and all students are matched with a mentor for further guidance. Please have a look at the site http://ffe.org to see how you can get involved.
