Mission: The mission of the foundation for edmonds school district is to raise and distribute funds in support of all students' learning in partnership with the edmonds school district.
Programs: Classroom & school-wide enrichment grants: small, innovative classroom and school-wide grants that support teacher instruction and enhance classroom learning environments. 32 teachers received classroom grants and 8 principals received school wide grants. Bridging the digital divide: bringing digital media to low income students in their homes. Students will no longer scramble to find alternative resources to complete assignments, and are able to stay abreast of homework assignments. 1,200 refurbished laptops provided to students. Psat/plan exams: are offered to 3,000 junior students, and are conducted at all five comprehensive high schools. This eliminates cost, access and transportation barriers, and helps students to identify potential college pathways. 1058 sophmores and juniors received stipends to take the psat and pre-act exam. World language test fees: 223 students earned 708 world language credits in 30 different languages and 86 students earned washington state's seal of bi-literacy. College in the high school tuition: is a program that allows students to take college-level courses while in high school, with a fee required to earn college credit. The foundation provides scholarships or college in the high school tuition for students in financial need. 71 students received assistance for 106 high school classes that earn college credits. Summer school recovery credits: 193 students took 213 courses, earning 106. 5 high school credits. Music enrichment: 380 students received small group instruction from musical professionals and other enrichment opportunities. Stem expo: 620 students in grades 4-12 participated in the showcase of scientific learning. Our programs are designed to give students the opportunity to achieve academic success throughout their k-12 school career; so that they will be prepared to lead productive lives and enter either post-secondary education or career fields; and most importantly so that all students will have hope for brighter futures!
nourishing network - meal programs to feed students experiencing homelessness or in emerging crisis. 4,578 weekend meals and 60 holiday meals were provided to students. 50 kids per day were served summer meals.
post-secondary academic scholarships: the foundation annually award scholarships to graduating district seniors to pursue post-secondary vocational and college academic opportunities. 51 students granted scholarships.
