Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Adoption, Children & Youth, Counseling, Foster Care, Mental Health

Mission: FAPAOC is completely run and controlled by foster and adoptive parents. We recruit, train, and support foster and adoptive families for the child welfare system. We train our families on topics which deal with the special needs that children from the system present, thereby enabling our parents and preserving the families. We are working on a project now that recruits homes for foster children from 4 counties in New York State who are available for adoption. Our association has made over 80 adoptive parent referrals in just a year and a half. Additionally, we are expanding our service area to include 2 more counties bringing our coverage to include most of central New York.
