Mission: The mission of this corporation shall be to increase opportunities for local fishing operations to participate in sustainable fishing activities along the west coast of the united states; and to develop those fishing opportunities in a manner that enhances the economic, social, and environmental conditions of fishery participants and fishery resources.
Programs: Purchased quota share in the west coast groundfish ifq fishery and leased quota pounds to local participants in the fishery to ensure continued access and to increase local port landings. We leased quota to participants in other regions to best utilize assets more specific to those areas. We established connections with the california groundfish collective for the management of certain constraining species to make them available to participants involved in collaboration and information sharing. Began developing relationships with municipal leaders and like organization in other california fishing port communities. Worked closely with the morro bay community quota fund to facility leasing quota pounds to a new entrant in the groundfish fishery from fort bragg who harvested in the morro bay region.
