FOREVER Dream Senior Dog sanctuary is a non profit thief.look it up.now under another name
Please don't donate.i beg of all of you
Forever dream senior dog is not a rescue. She CHOSE to leave those SENIOR SWEET CATS AND DOGS for 5 days during our horrific hurricane. I hiked back in old with cancer the very next day through miles of devastation on Hwy 176 very unsafe just to get to my felines. She should be held responsible for not being responsible. It is unconscionable what she did- I will live that nightmare over and over again...FOREVER
I know the person who was 80 that she supposedly helped and got stuck ...NOT TRUE and that awful 80-year-old should go to jail too. Saluda NC what a horrible place to be a senior dog or cat in that woman's care. Please do not donate anything to her- she should never not ever be allowed to have animals period.

I am an expert in the animal health industry and have visited many times and donated to this organization monthly. I first visited Forever Dream in 2021and was surprised to see that the seniors were so happy and enthusiastic to see me. They were happy and as healthy as they could be for whatever illness or disability they may have had. My immediate impression of the care giver (not owner as most intelligent people would know NO ONE OWNS A NONPROFIT it is run by board members) was the passion and love she has for each and every one of the dogs in her care. She knows each animals name, their stories, needs and desires. Every visit after my first have been nothing but gratitude for the opportunity to witness the beauty and grace that has been given to each animal. My last visit prior to the horrific incident of Helene was August 22, 2024. The care for the animals had never faltered. I was able to spend an entire day helping with baths, cleaning, and the best part was helping with the feeding. It was incredibly rewarding and impressive to see the organized care for each animals food, medications and so many supportive supplements they each received. It was the best feeling to be a part of the process of a day in the life of the senior animals. I was heartbroken to hear of such a tragic loss and travesty of what was done to the rescue. This poor woman who gives every part of her being was wrongly treated. She was helping an 80 year old woman prepare for the storm. This elderly lady who lived alone needed someone’s help. Unfortunately the storm hit sooner and was more severe than anyone had predicted. She was trapped for five days with this woman. The people and organizations involved with this horrific treatment of the animals and caregiver is a disgrace. It’s the perfect example of how the rescue world has become. That organization’s and sheriff agency should be ashamed of themselves. Instead of helping with the cleanup and care of the animals they willingly assumed the worst instead of understanding that a once in a lifetime occurrence had trapped her with no way to get back to the animals and no way to call anyone due to cell service and power being out. I personally will make it my mission to support this woman and organization to get back on track and continue to do their amazing work of saving animals that no one else wants to care for or give them a quality end of life.
The owner was just charged with 50 counts of animal abuse. Hopefully this place will be shut down and Verna May Wilkins, owner of Forever Dream Senior Dog Sanctuary, will go to prison for a long time.

Verna is the absolute best. I have known her for a few years now and she has the biggest heart ever for these senior dogs. Her passion to help animals is unlike anything I have ever seen before.
Verna is truly an angel and the world needs more individuals like her! She has never turned a dog away and provides the best care to the little ones in need of sanctuary for their last bit of time here. There are sadly so many elderly small dogs that end up unwanted in shelters and we are so thankful there is a safety net for them through Verna.
This is the most wonderful senior dog rescue I have ever been involved with. Forever dream provides a caring and loving home for so many senior dogs; especially those with special needs.
I adopted the love of my life from Forever Dream. A lot of these dogs have had a hard life (including my girl). I’m very grateful for the care taken for these sweet pups! I’m grateful to have been Francesca’s mom the last year and a half of her life. Ms. Wilkins dedicates her time and resources to ensure that these sweet babies get a good home. They are very well-taken care of, and I would highly recommend this non-profit if you’re looking for a senior dog.
We are so fortunate to have met Verna and some of her Seniors ( Mr. Minute‼️❤️) at her booth at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon. We currently have Miss Kate from the Sanctuary and have had the most wonderful experience with Forever Dream Senior Dog Sanctuary. Thanks to Verna it truly lives up to its name as a Safe Refuge... highly recommend those who are ready for the responsibility of caring for a delightful small Senior dog to adopt from FDSDS. ❤️
Verna at Forever Dream Senior Dog Sanctuary is a true gem. I adopted Max in December of 2019. The process was smooth and supporting from being vetted and a home visited to support after bringing Max home and worried about his shyness. Verna was alway available and helped me understand Max’s behaviors. After 6 weeks with him he hasn’t left my side and is an absolute gem of a pup. Verna had explained to me she had Mac for 8 months before she felt he was ready to be adopted. She understands what her dogs needs and makes sure they are ready and are going to a proper home. I wish I got to meet all of her dogs but it is probably good I did not or I would of come home with a dozen or so. She has earned her angel wings.
Verna Wilkins, owner of the Senior Dog Sanctuary, is a true angel on earth. She treats every little dog with the same love and care. While caring for the animals she maintains a high standard of cleanliness in the Sanctuary. She has a keen sense of the extra nutrients they need. It’s not uncommon for an animal to come in the sanctuary unable to walk and a few days later they are running out in the yard with their friends. I have been the lucky recipient of two of Verna’s sweet dogs. While the sanctuary is primarily a hospice, she will get the occasional adoptable dog. They don’t get adopted out until Verna is able to help them overcome some of their serious baggage. She really is a dog whisperer, although that may sounds trite. My dogs, Stella and Hershey have enriched my life. They put a smile on my face when I don’t always feel like it. I have truly been blessed to find the Senior Dog Sanctuary and Verna Wilkins.
Forever Dream Senior Dog Sanctuary is such an amazing organization! I was so lucky to adopt my sweet Lacey from them! It so obvious how loved and cared for these pups are at the sanctuary. They are really doing an amazing thing for the senior pups!
We adopted our sweet senior from Forever Dream Senior Dog Sanctuary. Verna is amazing with the little seniors and it shows when you meet them. She gives them a safe and loving home. It’s truly an gift of love.
