Causes: Environment, Natural Resources Conservation & Protection
Mission: Grassroots outreach and education of the public on forest protection including making 25,500 contacts generating 4,200 letters and 800 phone calls to decision makers. Successful legislative and administrative advocacy for and against various pieces of legislation.
Programs: Mobilizing our base of about 25,000 supporters, primary focus was on comprehensive and sweeping reform of californias logging rules to make them more environmentally effective as well as cost efficient. Worked to pass ballot measures at the local level in mendocino, napa, and contra costa counties. Fought to protect federal land and water conservation laws and funds, as well as national monuments within california.
