Clint from FLI has a servants heart and a brilliant mind. I am an Occupational Therapist that was working with a young lady that requires simple switches to act on her environment. It has been her parents dream for her to be able to turn her TV in her bedroom on independently when she wants to watch her videos. Sounds like this should be simple, but it’s not! I posted an inquiry in an AT grp. and Clint was quick to reply and offer his assistance. He listened to what the family’s desire was for her to be able to do. I shared what her physical and cognitive abilities were, and Clint came up with the most simple and straightforward solution. He was excited to adapt a universal remote to be able to operate the power on/off with a simple switch. This family shared that what he was willing to do as a service was some thing that they had been asking for and searching for years. They have tried multiple off-the-shelf products both themselves and therapists had recommended, and had no success. Clint was quick in his turnaround time, efficient, and a good communicator throughout the process. I hope to be able to work with FLI in the near future with other students that I serve. He is a blessing to his community and so many individuals‘ functional independence has been improved due to his interventions and expertise.

For Living Independence is a godsend! We’ve been looking for a way for our daughter to turn her own tv on and off, but everything was way to complicated for her. We searched for 4 years and basically had given up! For Living Independence came through when no one else had been able to! They worked with us and listened to our needs. They gave our daughter a chance to do something for herself that she’s never been able to do before! Such a great nonprofit! I know they will help lots of people who have been unable to find what they need. Plus, they sent it to us absolutely free with the option of a donation; that is I heard of!! I highly recommend them and will not hesitate to contact them in the future with our needs.

I had been wanting to get a front door solution for a couple of years now. Ever since Clint told me about it when they were showing me a lift to help me get out of bed by myself. TWC paid for a lift for me but they would not pay for the door opener even though it would be a great help to me because I have trouble getting in and out of my door. I actually lost a toenail (had to have it removed) because of my front door hitting my foot, and of course, I didn't feel it. It was so hard to get in, out or to lock the door if I am carrying something, like groceries or my bag and lunch for work.
After For Living Independence helped me get a door opener I can't express how liberating it is. This little slice of independence is so profound in my daily life. Thank You!
