I love to donate time and money to my local community animal shelters. I had recently moved to Northern California and was informed about the For All Time Fat Cat Haven. When I visited this nonprofit cat shelter, my heart was submerged with love and compassion for Hal & Chris's hard work with these special cats. I realized how important their mission was to care for all kitty special needs, medical disorders, and for those cats who would've never had the chance to thrive. I fell in love with their cats and for the tender-hearted owners. If you ever have the chance to visit, donate your time, cat food or any donation of any sort, I know your heart will melt as mine had. I'm so grateful for all those personalized animal shelters that give their own money, heart and soul to needy animals like this shelter has been doing for many years.
Chris always looks after our two cats when we are out of town. She pets, loves and feeds them regularly. We are thankful for the good care that our boys receive.
This is an awesome place. The cats are all happy and healthy. Great place to visit if you like cats, there are a lot of them. Most are there because they were not the favorites for adoptions. Wonderful place, can't say enough good things about them, the cats here are so lucky.
What a wonderful place for kitties, cats & cats, cats, cats. Chris has donated her whole house and yard to her feline friends. If I'm not mistaken, at this point she has 57 of them all different ages, shapes and sizes. She knows them all by name and loves each one. Some have health issues - they have their own spot to heal. Nobody else would take them but Chris couldn't say no. I don't know if she's ever said no to a cat. They are all in their own little divisions with so much room to roam, sleep or eat. Just amazing. Her husband and biggest supporter past away last December, so so sad. And now her helper has health issue and isn't able to assist right now so Chris is pretty much on her own. I brought my daughter who was visiting me to see what Chris was doing and she was near tears when we left. If she lived closer she would have volunteered but driving 7hrs would be too much. Chris has the biggest heart for Cats I've ever seen. Wish I would've thought to bring my camera. The place is so organized and clean, kitties so well taken care of. I recommend this have/heaven to anyone that has to leave their cats for any reason because I know how they will be taken care of. God bless you Chris

My husband & I found a kitten (who ended up pregnant) that we couldn’t keep. We were told For All Time Cat Haven would not kill this little kittie so we brought her there. We have never met people so dedicated to taking care of their animals! They have sacrificed their lives & property for the animals brought to this facility. If we were more financially set we would absolutely give lots more. They are generoues, kind, loving, caring & I can’t thank them enough for all they’ve done for the cats & kittens in our area. God bless this couple!
For All Time Cat Haven is the Ritz-Carlton for cats! My husband and I have been boarding our cats here for some years now. We would not feel comfortable with any other place to leave them. Chris is the CAT WHISPERER! She puts ALL her heart and soul into complete care and love to each and EVERY cat. When we leave town and take the cats over there, they are immediately happy to be there and love the food and love she gives them. They are also in NO HURRY to leave her place either when we arrive home! She is extremely attentive to ALL cat needs and feeds them the best food there is. Their precise daily care is paramount to Chris and when you leave your cat with her, she loves them like her own many, many happy cats! Our cats are left there in the most sanitary comfy dorm and even well heated in the colder weather. THIS is the BEST there is in cat care, 365 days a year, consistently!

There is NO place better to board a cat! The love, and attention my two cats receive is beyond all expectations. I have left my two cats for several EXTENDED periods of time, and have never had to worry a single minute! Chris is the most loving cat care taker you could EVER imagine. She takes such great care in the feeding, bedding, and every other need they might have. When I return from being away the cats seem so healthy, happy and NO apparent hurry to return home! I would HIGHLY recommend this wonderful "Kitty Hotel" to anyone in need of a NO WORRY, hassle-free, loving atmosphere for your cats temporary care. The level of care these cats receive is A+!
I had 2 older cats that I could no longer keep, as our property was on the market and they were getting incontinent. I called Chris at Fat Cat Haven and offered to volunteer if she would take in Zelda Lou and Greta Goofus; it was a fruitful association on both of our parts. Chris has a lot of love for animals and if I still lived in Crescent City, CA instead of Beaverton, OR, I'd still be volunteering there.

I met the McChesneys when I could no longer keep 2 elder cats at home (house was for sale and cats made messes) - - - I ended up volunteering there in gratitude and was impressed by the attitude and caring that I saw daily.......good people, Chris and Harold!
The owner and volunteers at FAT Cats Haven are truly selfless rescuers! They have devoted their life's work in helping the helpless animals in need. This is a drama free sanctuary where the only ones who matter are the lucky resident and rescue kitties.
It takes an abundance of time, compassion, and financial commitment to serve the volume of animals on the property. Yet, not one inch of the property are neglected. Not one kitty was forsaken at any time! I truly wish they'd get more support to keep up the great work that they do everyday!
I cared for over 37 cats, abandoned, feral and just needing a home during a 40 year period. Many became loving pets. All received vet. care and a safe, care.
When it became time for me to downsize, I still had 9 cats. I could not find a 'rescue group' that would take healthy adult or senior cats. Then I found Chris at For All Time Cat Haven.
I found a home for two catstook 3 with me, and Chris took in five of my furry friends. We are all extremely grateful for her care and especially the loving home she gave to my cats.

I found 'For All Time Cat Haven' after an exhaustive search for a 'true' Cat sanctuary.
I had 5 older cats that I had rescued. They became pets. We were moving to a retirement community and could only take two cats. Even 'No Kill Shelters' would ultimately euthanize cats that were not desirable, ie. Older cats.
For All Time Cat Haven gladly took them, FOR ALL TIME! I toured the facility and saw all kinds of well cared for cats. They have their own shelters, beds and most of all the care and loving attention of Chris McChesney.
The end of life care continues with a Cat Cemetery/Memorial on premises.
I heartily recommend For All Time Cat Haven as a truly Great NonProfit.
Sincerely, Marilyn Porter
My town say they have no help or resources to help feral, pregnant or sick homeless cats.
I have already adopted 2 cats from the street where I live. Then a pregnant female shows up & I had to help her before the kittens were born so I fed & trapped her. I heard about For All Time Cat Haven from a friend & I sought help. Chris took the pregnant Mom & she had 2 kittens. I donated money & bags of cat food. I am so thankful for the help. The town I live in needs to have a Haven as well. ❤️
My name is Colleen and I am a true animal lover. I moved to Crescent City in 2018 and began to research the various animal shelters and organizations in the area to see where my donations would be best used and appreciated. After visiting some of the “bigger” sites, I ran across For All Time Cat Haven. I cried through all the stories of rescue and recovery and decided to make a small donation. Within hours, Chris wrote me a lovely email thanking me and offering me a tour. I gladly accepted and went a few days later to her house. What I was expecting and what I saw were worlds apart. This place is a resort. If my cats could see this, they’d be all kinds of jealous!
At any given time, Chris cares for 60+ cats, most of which are not adoptable due to age or limitations. She has an area designated to safely accommodate feral animals and uses her garage to acclimate the newbies. The main population is housed in her home and patio with well-kept feeding stations and plenty of sand boxes. She keeps a journal for each one that shows their date of arrival, markings, conditions, and temperament. And the most moving part of the tour for me was the Memory Garden. Here, in the most personal area of her property is where these souls are laid to rest after their journey; headstones marking their passing.
But the expenses go way beyond the never-ending food and vet bills. She provides toys and clean bedding to all and a filtered water reservoir that must need regular maintenance. She depends on friends and volunteers to help around the property. Just combing and flea control is full-time job! We live in a beautiful area with a less-than-bustling economy, so donations are hard to come by. Fundraising takes even more time and energy. This is why I wish to see For All Time Cat Haven receive the help and recognition it so deserves.
For All Time Cat Haven is a wonderful thing for homeless cats. They will take cats whose owners pass away or can not otherwise care for them. If not for FAT Cats many cats would suffer. They cared for my grandmother's kitty Abner when she could no longer care for him I will always appreciate FAT Cats. God bless them.
I am a board member, donor, and volunteer here. We do our absolute best to give a second chance to cats and kittens. Those that are unadoptable remain here at F.A.T. Cat Haven. We attempt to make up for the unfortunate pasts of some of these cats and give them all the love they should have received all their lives. We do everything possible to give them a happy, healthy forever home.

We do our best to give the cats in our care the best life possible and the healthiest life possible. This means lots of food, vet care, cleaning, and most important love. Some of the cats that come to us have had a pretty rough life prior to coming here. Just last year we rescued 4 cats that were going to be euthanized just because the various owners did not want them any longer. I don't know how people can do that! They are living life to the fullest here at F.A.T. Cat Haven.
For All Time Cat Haven, is dedicated to giving love, food, medical care and shelter to cats who for one reason or another lost their forever homes. Rescued kittens are easily adopted to homes. The senior cats are harder to find homes for. Some of these have been rescued from being euthanized. Some of the seniors have various challenges so are not up for adoption. They are all given a forever home at F.A.T. Cat Haven. They are all loved so very much and can live out their lives here in a cage free environment.

We do our very best to provide love and care for the cats and kittens in our care. There are many that we are trying to make up for the horrible lives they had prior to coming to us. Animals deserve a great life, not just when they are young and cute but forever.
Chris is very caring and treats all of the cats in her sanctuary as her own babies. She provided follow-up videos of our rescued cats in their new for-ever home. Her home and property provides natural settings for individual cats' needs without cages. The environment is well maintained. Each cat is very well cared for and attended to.
Compassion, dedication and the willingness to open their hearts and make a home for cats that no one else would take. That was my experience when my good friend had a stroke and could no longer take care of her elderly cat Sammie. For All Time Cat Haven did not hesitate to take him in and give him a loving home. Sammie is enjoying his retirement and Chris and Hal make sure that I have pictures of Sammie and his buddies to share with his mom. It’s that extra effort that sets them apart from others.

My good friend Gail was worried about what would happen to her cat Sammie if anything ever happened to her. Sammie was about 11 years old, a beautiful Siamese with a great personality. Gail had rescued him about 2 years before when she found him living in a cat colony close to her home. She opened her home and her heart to him and the two were inseparable. So when she stated to think about how she could insure he would continue to have a good life if she was unable to care for him, she began to search for an answer. Call after call she found that because he was a mature boy, local shelters would not take him. So called, "cat rescue teams", would not consider taking him because, "older cats are harder to find homes for". She became frustrated with making arrangements for him until she found, For All Time Cat Haven. She drove to Northern California to visit the shelter and met with the director, Chris to discuss the care Sammie would have at the shelter. So an agreement was reached that if Gail were to pass away, Sammie would have a forever home at For All Time Cat Haven. In return, Gail would provide a gift to the haven in her trust. Then the unthinkable happened, Gail had a stroke and a few months later it was obvious that she would never live independently again. As her trustee, I kept Sammie at his home with a good neighbor looking in on him several times each day. Nine months later, it was time to find him a permanent home. It was then that I called Chris at FAT Cat Haven and told her about Gail. Immediately, she said, "we will take him". We made arrangements to meet in Albany, Oregon and Sammie was on his way to his new home. I was so grateful that Gail had made arrangements. Sammie is loved and is part of the family. He is a lucky boy to have had time with Gail and to now be a resident at For All Time Cat Haven.
F.A.T Cat Haven is one of the very few actual "no kill" sanctuaries in California or any where else for that matter. They have recently rescued 3 cats from an Oregon Veterinary practice. The owners had asked that the cats be euthanized and Chris & Hal were called to see if they would consider adding them to the sanctuary and save their lives. The answer was YES. Awesome, 3 more lives saved.
The best cat care ever. They adopted my brothers 8 cats after he passed away 2 years ago. They are the kindest, most caring people ever. All of their cats are so well taken care of. They have a great outdoor Catio, super cozy sleeping quarters and are fed healthy nutritious food. But best of all they are loved!! Chris and Hal keep me updated about my brother's felines. I was so blessed to have found them. I think that it should be called Cat Heaven instead of Cat Haven!

My brother was a true cat lover. He had rescued nine cats. Most of his cats were physically disabled (crippled, deaf, 3 legged, etc.). He was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer a year ago and seemed to be more concerned about the future of his cats than his own health. We were so fortunate to have found this Cat Haven (Heaven). After having a tour of the facility and a wonderful talk with Chris and Hal, my brother knew that he had been blessed. I know that my brother is resting in peace today because Chris and Hal enabled his cats to continue their lives together with optimal care and love.
My friendship with Chris and Hal continues to grow. It is great to be periodically updated with photos and news about my brother's cats. I wish there were more people like Chris and Hal in this world!

This is a very special all time home for cats my wife and I have supported for many years. For All Time Cat Haven, is dedicated to giving love, food, medical care and shelter to cats who for one reason or another lost their for ever homes. Each visit to F.A.T. Cat Haven has given us joy to see cats receiving unconditional love and care. I only wish more could be done so all cats left on streets could have a loving caring home. Thank you for all you do and all the love you give. In turn we ail continue to help and support your CAT HAVEN.....Sincerely

To Chris and Hal I can only say ONE IN A MILLION-------in this case make it TWO in a MILLION..... Cats/Kittens who are lucky enough to have found this NO KILL SHELTER have found a loving, caring, exceptional shelter until they find their own FOREVER HOME. I cannot not say enough about how these people with true dedication give their time to each and every cat. No cat is missed getting love, attention and care everyday of every week. I enjoy my visits because I get the latest story or update by name of the cats ---along with a greeting from cats who understand there are humans who do care and care enough to make a difference. It is a pleasure to be a Donor to help keep this shelter able to give the best possible care to their cat family. Donations are appreciated and needed. Thank you to Chris and Hal for doing a great job even through difficullt times when dollars are short.......You both are GREAT PEOPLE....
I came across Fat Cat Haven on-line when a loving and extremely friendly neighborhood cat had suffered an injury that surely he would had died from. I spoke to Chris and she said to bring him as soon as possible. I gave a donation which I know did not even cover the cost of his surgery and neuter. After a few months of recovering the sweet cat was diagnosed with a disease which he probably acquired by being homeless for so long. He was also diagnosed with diabetes. Fat Cat Haven was such a blessing to this sweet boy. Chris and Hal lovingly gave him the best 10 months he probably ever had. When he passed away, he did so being kissed and hugged. Not alone in the bushes somewhere unknown to anyone. I am forever grateful to them. They have the biggest hearts for all feline friends. God Bless Fat Cat Haven.

Six months ago I took a neighborhood cat who had a large wound on his leg to Fat Cat Haven. Chris and Hal lovingly took him in and got him the vet care he needed. The wound healed, however the cat "Bugsey" has become ill from other causes. Chris has vowed to love and care for him until the end. The way they love all the cats is so amazing! They are angels to cats that have no home, love or options. Words can't say enough about Fat Cat Haven.
Chris and Hal are cat angels. My brother had 8 cats that he had adopted over the years---all with special needs. Mr. Sideways had been hit by a car breaking his pelvis and back legs. He was not expected to live. Under exceptional vet care and rehab by my brother, Mr. Sideways has thrived. Pearl was a 3 week old kitten when my brother took her in. She later developed cancer of the bone in a front leg. Again, she was not expected to live but again with exceptional vet care and support from my brother, Pearl is a 3-legged wonder cat. When my brother developed incurable lung cancer, the plight of these 8 well-loved rescue cats was of paramount importance to my brother, sister, and I. My sister was able to home one but I have 3 large indoor dogs and it would not have been safe for the remaining cats, each with their own troubles, to live with me. My brother was able to give a very healthy donation to FAT Cat Haven and the day after his death, Chris and Hal returned to my brother's home (they had visited earlier to meet and greet the cats) and we had an exciting cat round-up amidst many tears. Not only were these challenged cats, they also really only related to my brother. The care with which these beautiful cats were cared and gently introduced into the FAT Cat Haven family was truly remarkable. Perhaps the name for this nonprofit should be For All Time Cat HEAVEN!
Volunteering at F.A.T. Cat Haven is a lot of work but so very worth it. Of course the work gets interupted by the loving cats wanting to help out. Wish more people would spend time helping with some of the chores that are needed to be done to help keep this place so very nice for the kitties.

F.A.T. Cat Haven is truly a no-kill sanctuary. We have accepted healthy cats which had been taked to the vet for euthansia. They are now living out their lives here. We only consider euthanasia when nothing else can be done to help a cat live a pain free life. People who visit are amazed at how happy the cats are and how well they all get along. F.A.T. Cat Haven is operated from our home and our 4 acres. This insures that money received from donations goes to food, litter and vet bills. There is no rent, wages, or utilities taken from these donations. Since the cats are here at our home, they get a lot of daily attention and love. Our main reason for starting this sanctuary in 2001, was because there were so many cats being euthanized, abandoned and abused due to old age, illnesses or deformities. There needed to be somewhere for these cats to go, a place safe, secure, with love and attention. That's when For All Time Cat Haven came into existance. Tours and adoptions are given on an appointment basis. Our goal is to get each of these wonderful furry lives their own forever home. But until that day comes we will continue to give them the best of care and love while they are here at F.A.T. Cat Haven.
This is an exceptional nonprofit cat sanctuary which caught my attention over 12 years ago. I first visited FAT CAT HAVEN -----For All Time Cat Haven-----years ago. I was and still am so impressed with the love and care each cat receives from Hal and Chris. Every cat has a name, Chris can give you details regarding all the feline guests, each cat receives medical care and many hugs with love. As with many shelters/sanctuaries each day is a financial struggle. Fat Cat Haven operates on donations, which in our small rural area can be very hard to come by. All Donations received are so needed to keep this exceptional sanctuary a home for lovely creatures who for various reasons have lost their home. Chris and Hal have dedicated their time to give love and care to wonderful cats who now have a bed and food and are not on the streets. This is a very worthy endeavor which needs your help. Thank you from someone who personally has seen the love and attention given to each delightful cat guest at For All Time Cat Haven..............
Chris and Hal are great... Due to personal circumstances, my wife and I had to find a new home for our cat Toby, who had been with us for more than 12 years. As hard as this was, the warm, welcoming environment at For All Time Cat Haven, illustrated by the level of comfort and friendly behavior of ALL cats in their home, made this difficult step a bit easier. Chris and Hal welcomed Toby with open arms and lots of love - they are amazing.
Chris and Hal are two wonderful people who care for cats, young and old. You can tell that all the cats are loved. As a volunteer, I can say there is a lot of work to be done around there and Chris and Hal works very hard to keep up on the place and make it look nice and give all the cats loving's.
It is so amazing the time and efforts that Chris and her staff put into maintaining F.A.T. Haven! What dedication and love they have for all the cats they care for. They are all selfless people who care the way all of us should care for the wondreful animals that have been placed on the same planet that we inhabit.
This organization does extremely wonderful, and basically thankless, work. Chris and her entire staff are caring and hard-working. They make every dollar count and rescue as many cats as they possibly are able to provide for. If I won the lottery I would make a very large donation to them because I feel they would spend it on exactly what it was intended for, the animals. You hear so many bad things about charities these days, it's wonderful to know there are dedicated organizations doing their very best.
I am always very inpressed each visit at this wonderful NO KILL cat shelter but it goes beyond a cat shelter, this is a home for all cats of all ages, the senior to the kittens all find real love and concern for their needs. To visit each time is an adventure to see new and old friends, Chris and Hal are wonderful caregivers for these delightful creatures. We always get a laugh and a giggle out of the antics of the cats as they play or show off for us. As a NON+PROFIT it is very important to help where ever we can, every bit is a big help -------we do what we can but I will ask anyone reading this ------Please give too, whatever you can --to a REALLY GREAT and Loving home-- for cats needing a home...Thank you for your kindness....

I have known Fat Cat HAven or should I say Heaven for a number of years. I first saw their donation jars in our small town and would drop my dollars in each time hoping to help the kitties. Then I read information posted regarding the FOREVER Home for all cats whatever their need. THis impressed me as it was a true home for the aged, the ill, the handicap, cats whose owner had passed and now were without not only their owner but also now their home. Finally one day I drove out to see this no kill shelter, to meet the people involved and feel in love with both Chris and Hal. I saw through their eyes their mission, the dedication and the complete love for each and every cat. At that time there were over 90 cats of all ages and stages of life but I was most impressed as Chris talked to each cat and called them by name as she shared each of their stories. The afternoon passed quickly and I knew this would be my FOREVER project and now many years later it is still with great respect and love for these 2 people I completely support this wonderful For Ever Home for cats.
This nonprofit is excellent and the cats are given the best medical care. Chris loves each and every cat and deeply cares about their total well being. I do cat rescue on a small scale so I know how difficult and costly it can be to take exceptional medical care of many cats. I am not able to take in small kittens. Chris was kind enough to take tiny kittens (who needed to be bottle fed) from me in the past. She is like magic with kittens - she is so wonderful with them! She has saved many a kitten from deaths door. Her total dedication to the cats under her care is unsurpassed. We are lucky to have For All Time Cat Haven on the northcoast of California!
My experience with Chis and Fat Cat Haven is from a slightly different perspective. After 15 years we were in a situation where we had to give up our beloved cat Brooke. There are not a lot of acceptable alternatives, but Fat Cat Haven was there for us and Brooke. While still extremely painful, we take great solace in knowing that Brooke will live out her days in a kind, caring and happy environment, and may even end up in another loving home. We really can't thank them enough.
I adopted a wonderful cat named Hope from this shelter about 2 years. She had been with them since she was a kitten. I got her when she turned nine. Her and I have since then bonded, Hope and I are almost inseparable, she even enjoys following me into the bathroom. She's a wonderful, friendly companion, who even though she's 11 years old, enjoys tossing around a catnip mouse. I couldn't thank Fat Cat haven for taking care of her until I could giver her a forever home. This shelter needs the help and donations in order to care for these wonderful companions until their forever homes can be found, or renewed.
I recently took 2 pets that I could no longer care for to Chris at FAT Cat Haven. She was understanding, gracious and kind. She and her husband welcomed them like they had known them forever. They truly loves cats and it is reflected in the way they cares for the many animals they have taken in. They never turn an animal away. The homeless, sick, injured, abandoned, and the dying. They love and care for them all. I do not know what I would have done without them. What really astounds me is that they are 100% non-profit. She and her husband always put the needs of the animals first. Many times before their own needs. I donate every chance I get because I know how every dollar is used. I am grateful everyday that there are people like Chris and her husband in the world. I am honored to know them and their great work on behalf of cats.
The donations of the wonderful people who really care about what F.A.T. Cat Haven does, has really made a difference. The economy has really hurt us. Dentals on 2 cats in 4 days was over $1200. Example of recent Christmas fundraiser: The efforts of making items to sell and basket items to raffle, pack them up, take them to another area fundraiser, unpack, set up, spend the day selling items and raffle tickets, pack up again, return and unpack. We made $216 of which $40 comes out for our table space. Did you know we are also taxed on these sales! How do we make this kind of money without your help. It would be imposible. The needs of the cats in our care come before everything else. The everyday calls of cats and kittens needing a home that we have to reject because we don't have the funds to care for them is breaking my heart. We have in the last 6 months rescued a total of 10 kittens which we bottle-fed, got shots, spay/neutered and adopted. Took in 3 cats from L.A., 1 cat from Pacific Palisades, CA, 1 cat flown up here from Oakland, CA, 1 cat from Pales Verdes, CA, 1 cat from Vallejo, CA, several cats from Crescent City, CA, 1 of which needed immediate medical care or he would have died. They are all elderly so most likely will not find another home. F.A.T. Cat Haven is publicly funded and the generousity of those who donate enable us to rescue these and other cats and kittens. They help us to provide lifesaving medical care, provide a safe, secure, loving home until these precious lives are adopted or we provide for the rest of their lives. The more people who are able to give, the more lives we are able to save. Saving and providing for the cats that are discarded or otherwise in need of a home is so essential! Humane Societies and most rescue groups are not set up to provide long term care-F.A.T. Cat Haven is and we will continue to do our best in caring for these lives to the best if our ability! C.McChesney, Executive Director and volunteer
I visited the Haven several years ago. The haven has a large fenced in area with numerous cat homes, trees, places to hide, a special litter area and indoor sanctuaries. When I visited, Chris and I walked through the sanctuary and numerous cat followed us and ran ahead of us. Their tails were high and they were happy. I have never forgotten the scene of those cats and their tails running before and after us, and those tails high up in the air.
I met Chris and Hal McChesney years ago through Fat Cat Haven. When I visited the sanctuary the first thing I noticed the reason for their success...LOVE. They love the cats that come to them. They know each and every one by name. They know the cats history, and they care for these sweet cats as if it were the only cat in the world. This sanctuary, FAT CAT HAVEN deserves your attention!!
I got my cat "Highway" four years ago from fat cat and he is the coolest healthyest cat I have ever had.
I became acquainted with FAT Cat Haven through "Hugs for Homeless Animals", and became a follower on Facebook. I am so impressed with their dedicated and responsible approach. They are working hard to provide the best homes possible for each of the cats in their care. If you live in their area, I encourage you to contact them to arrange a visit, and ask how you can help. What they do is so important, and it is vital to "get the word out" to everyone in the local community. If you don't live nearby, please consider sending a donation to help them out. If you crochet or knit, how about making some blankets and toys? I know any and all donations would be very appreciated. On behalf of the kitties of FAT Cat Haven - Thank You!
I'm also a client served, as my two older cats moved in when I had to move across the country. My cats were treated as part of the family and lived out the remainder of their lives well cared for and well loved, I was even sent photos of my "kids"! I was able to visit them a few times and the facility always had an "open door". All the animals I saw on my (usually unannounced) visits were happy and looked well cared for. I continued to donate cash and in-kind. So many local animals need this type of humane care, and while many are helped here, so many more could be helped with increased donations. Pretty much the entire house, fenced two acre wooded yard and garage are devoted to the cats by these very loving and capable people.
For All Time (F.A.T.) Cat Haven is just that - a for all time sanctuary for cats. No discrimination here, no matter if a cat is blind, three legged, bald, toothless or just old, the wonderful people at FAT Cat Haven will do everything necessary and more, to take care of these unwanted creatures. Countless trips to the vet, specialized medications and doing the absolute best that they can with their HOME, is what I see here. This dedication MUST continue. There is nothing else like it in this area! Living just a few miles from FAT Cat Haven, I'm painfully aware of how desperate our economy is, how short funds are here, as well as volunteers. Our harbor was destroyed by the recent surge (tsunami) Money is tighter than ever. The sanctuary desperately needs new fencing. Desperately needs new flooring inside. Desperately needs funds to care for the cats who were once loved by someone else, and are now loved with everything that these people have. We live in a maritime climate, and upgrades to the old fencing and living areas for the out of doors cats must be built. MUST. Raccoons and cougar can easily enter, and the sanctuary is compromised. Indoors, there are cubby holes and platforms everywhere you turn. These people have given so completely, freely, of their lives and home. Each cat deserves a home, and my heart tells me that if the sanctuary had an upgrade, that more cats would be adopted. Outreach is of the utmost importance. I understand all this very well, as I have taken in 8 rabbits, who were otherwise abandoned, unloved, unwanted or neglected, even abused, along with five other animals, including horses. F.A.T. Cat Haven deserves to be the beneficiary of special attention and funding, equal to the dedication and commitment that's unwavering and pure. The sheer numbers of cats that are cared for, begs for the assistance of an army of volunteers. There is no such army. Please help.
