Causes: Food, Food Banks & Pantries
Mission: Our mission is to reduce hunger through community cooperation, effectively distributing donated grocery products and perishable foods, making the best possible use of all available resources.
Programs: Through a variety of programs, we feed 2,000 individuals in our community every month. That's 3% of our county's population. The commodity supplemental food program (csfp), most commonly known to residents as the senior box program, caters to seniors who are 60+ years of age. Food in this program is distributed the 3rd thursday of each month to eligible seniors. The emergency food assistance program is administered through our partnership with golden harvest food bank. Local grocery stores donate the majority of the food provided to eligible residents. Additional food is purchased or provided by golden harvest food bank. Eligible residents can receive food from this program once a month. The sowing seeds program provides residents an opportunity to invest a small amount towards their food security. Eligible residents can receive food from this program four times a year.
