Programs: The fluvanna spca (fspca) provides shelter, feeding, and veterinary care for lost, abandoned, abused, and neglected animals in fluvanna county. In 2017, the fspca continued its no-kill status with a live release rate of 94%. The fspca took in 352 cats and 392 dogs, reuniting 154 lost pets with their owners and adopting 158 dogs and 255 cats into new homes. 128 pets were transferred to out-of-state no-kill shelters and found permanent homes. The fspca provides public animal shelter services to the county of fluvanna and conducts public rabies clinics to encourage pet owners to keep vaccinations current.
