Causes: Education, Scholarships, Scholarships & Student Financial Aid
Mission: The FRA Education Foundation provides scholarships to students pursuing college degrees. It was launched in 2009 to expand FRA's scholarship program, which has been helping deserving students for decades.
Results: Thanks to the generosity of our members, legacy gifts and corporate sponsors, the scope of our scholarship program has grown substantially since 2000; increasing the number of recipients by more than 50 percent and boosting the monetary value of the awards by more than 260 percent. Just since 2000, the FRA scholarship program has provided over 200 scholarships totaling more than $850,000.
Target demographics: Spouses, children and grandchildren of current and former enlisted personnel in the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard
