Causes: Mental Health, Mental Health & Crisis Intervention
Mission: Using the arts to raise awareness about human trafficking, and provide arts-based healing for survivors of trafficking and other trauma.
Programs: Healing arts toolkit training in mexico city, may 2013. We trained 20 staff from 5 organizations serving survivors of human trafficking in mexico city. Each organization impacts the lives of dozens of women and children that are rescued from forced prostitution and labor. They also serve at-risk street youth. We provided training in best practices from arts-based/expressive therapies that are proven effective with this demographic. Our training has of these 20 staff from 5 organizations will impact hundreds of lives of the most vulnerable and abused in mexico city.
