Causes: Centers to Support the Independence of Specific Populations, Human Services, Job Training, Vocational Rehabilitation
Mission: Fedcap's mission is to be the premier organization helping people with barriers to employment achieve independence and full participation in the economic mainstream.Fedcap seeks to accomplish its mission by providing services to individuals, business and government in accordance with the highest ethical standards.Fedcap believes that all people should have the opportunity to reach their potential in the workplace.
Programs: Economic development: fedcap has five operations designed to provide employment to people with disabilities and other barriers to employment which help improve the economic status of citizens in impoverished communities. These operations employ 1700 individuals the vast majority of whom were helped to overcome barriers to employment by fedcap. The operations span the northeast and mid-atlantic and include total facilities management, digital imaging and document maintenance, manufacturing, home health care and security. Our clients include the u. S. Department of defense, general services administration and environmental protection agency, the new york state department of labor, the council on the arts, the city university of new york, geico, kmart, restaurant associates, and many others.
occupational health: fedcap's occupational health programs focus on evaluating and treating the health needs of individuals so that they can overcome barriers and obtain and maintain employment. Fedcap operates a partial day program in orange, nj, a clubhouse in manhattan, an article 31 mental health clinic in bronx, ny.
workforce development: fedcap has been a pioneer in job training and placement for people encountering barriers to employment. Through our employer based training approach fedcap provides work readiness activities and soft skills training to ensure success in the workplace, and builds strategic partnerships with diverse business sectors resulting in pipelines to jobs. Program participants receive comprehensive career evaluation and counseling, vocational assessments, job matching and post placement supports. Fedcap operates the wecare program, which is funded by the nyc human resources administration. The wecare program assists individuals who are unemployed due to health issues and helps them obtain treatment, vocational training and employment.
