Mission: Mr. Daniel Brown had a vision to help the homeless and need in the community. In January 1974, the City Rescue Mission was established. We started out with just serving peanut butter sandwiches! Since 1974, we served over 1.5 million hot meals to people who came to our doors in need. Not only do we serve hot meals but we also do clothing drives from our clothing closet every Saturday, we do DMV referrals for those who need to obtain a NC Driver's Licence at no cost to them, we provide food boxes for those in need of food to prepare in their homes, etc. We couldn't do any of this without the help of people who invest in our efforts on behalf of those in need, people just like you!
