Causes: Disaster Aid, Search & Rescue Squads
Mission: The fayette county sheriffs posse is an organization with the mission of fostering interest among its members in keeping alive the true traditions of the old west. The fcsp 1)promotes good fellowship, good sportsmanship and a greater interest, both civic & social, in its community, and 2) assists the fayette county sheriff, upon request, for any emergency deemed necessary. The fcsp promotes civic and educational programs and encourages the education and training of fayette county youth, not only in the art of horsemanship, but also in the varied arts of citizenship, sportsmanship and everyday living.
Programs: Rodeo and other competitive events: payments and support to various local nonprofit organizations and charities - deputy santa, texas women's league, 4h groups, boy scouts, chamber of commerce, girl scouts - among others. For the year, there were over 7,500 participants and attendees for organization events. College scholarships of 4,500 were distributed in current fiscal year. Another scholarship was funded for a future high school graduate. Overall, the organization promotes and directs both civic and educational programs engaging county youth, not only in the art and sport of horsemanship and rodeo, but also in good citizenship, volunteerism and responsibility in everyday life.
