Mission: FAVOR Piedmont (née FAVOR Tri-County) promotes long-term recovery from SUD (substance use disorder) for individuals, families and groups seeking recovery from SUD through a community presence, education, advocacy and recovery support services resulting in healthier individuals, groups, families, and communities throughout the SC Piedmont.
Target demographics: FAVOR Piedmont supports all pathways to recovery and believes that recovery flourishes in supportive communities. FAVOR Piedmont envisions communities of formal and informal networks working together to achieve a Recovery-Oriented System of Care for individuals and families impacted by SUD

Programs: Individual Recovery Coaching A trained Recovery Coach can offer one-on-one support and a healing relationship to anyone dealing with substance use disorder. Transportation Support Services FAVOR Piedmont can arrange transportation support to and from inpatient facilities. Weekly Peer Led Recovery Groups FAVOR Piedmont travels to Fairfield County to host weekly peer-led recovery support in collaboration with the faith leaders at River of Life Church to serve this underserved community. Telephone Recovery Support Connection helps people in recovery stay in recovery. FAVOR volunteers meet with people in treatment settings to invite them to use FAVOR services and sign up for telephone/texting recovery support. Telehealth FAVOR provides telephone recovery support to collaborative centers such as Keystone, Gateway Counseling Center, and Pathways. Recovery Coach: FAVOR Piedmont provides co-trainers and assists in the development of course content for training individuals who will work with peers experiencing substance use disorders. Individuals who complete this training will work in volunteer settings usually under the direction of one of FAVOR SC’s affiliated chapters. Intervention for Clergy & Pastoral Counselors: Offered over a 3-day period, this training teaches basic motivational interviewing skills. This evidence-based practice promotes a non-confrontational, person-centered, strength-based, outcome-informed approach to engaging individuals experiencing substance use disorders. Ethics and Self Care: This four-hour training module is designed exclusively for FAVOR SC-trained recovery coaches and Certified Peer Support Specialists. Peer coaches pay attention to their holistic health. Certified Peer Support Specialist: This 40-hour HHS-approved training. The practice of motivational interviewing is at the heart of this non-confrontational, person-centered style of engaging peers that increases the individual’s intrinsic motivation to change. Motivational Interviewing: This day-long training is designed exclusively for trained recovery coaches and Certified Peer Support Specialists to refresh motivational interviewing skills.
