Causes: Family Services, Human Services
Mission: The Fathering Circle fosters connections among fathers and male caregivers to help us engage more fully with our children, challenge limiting male socialization, and better support our parenting partners in their liberation. Through listening circles, collaborative art, playdates, and family gatherings, we are building a supportive community of fathers and families.
Results: Since our founding in 2017, The Fathering Circle has successfully touched the lives of over 200 men and their families through direct peer-support circles and playdates. Our inaugural Fathering Festival hosted at the Perelman building of the Philadelphia Museum of Art in Philadelphia saw over 800 unique visitors over our two-day event.
Target demographics: Men, fathers, male caregivers and their families.
Geographic areas served: Philadelphia, PA
Programs: Peer-support counseling, group discussions, art therapy practices and father/child playdates.
