Programs: The organization's purpose is to promote the sport of curling, to provide a facility to participate in the sport, to increase the participant's skills and to conduct bonspiels and other competitions. The organization had approximately 650 members during the current fiscal year. There was 2 men's leagues, 2 youth leagues, 3 open leagues, 2 novice leagues and also 1 league each for women and competitive. There were a total of 11 full year leagues for the current year. Also during the current fiscal year, 6 bonspiels were held and "learn to curl" sessions expanded and were held throughout the season. Curling lessons and open curling, were offered too. Throughout the year many groups from various organizations came in to learn about curling, including students from area schools. The "green" bonspiel that was added in march of 2012 has continued into 2017. This is a bonspiel where two members of the four member team had to be "new" curlers (under three-years). A junior bonspiel for youth was also held during the fiscal year. There were three mini-leagues in place. These leagues are six weeks each in length - to allow new curlers to get a feel for a league and to see if they enjoy the sport of curling. In november 2014, a six-week mini-league was added for hope inc. - children's wheelchair curling. Wheelchair curling has continued. National tournaments are awarded to different clubs each year. Fmcc hosted another national tournament in january 2017. This was the junior nationals - youth (21 and under). The f-m curling club also hosted the "scot's tour" in january 2017. This tour goes back and forth between scotland and the united states every five years. In march 2016 a "two-clubs" bonspiel was added. This was a combination tournament between the fargo-moorhead and sioux falls, sd curling clubs. Sioux falls does not have a dedicated ice curling club and wanted to get a feel for the bonspiel atmosphere/experience. The two-club's bonspiel continued and was held in march 2017.
