Mission: Family health services of east central ohio, inc. Is a non-profit organization established in 1967 to provide and assure access to voluntary, comprehensive and culturally sensitive family planning and reproductive health care services.
Programs: Patient services include but are not limited to cancer screen services such as clinical breast examinations, pap tests, and testicular examinations, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, and hpv testing for abnormal pap tests. The agency offers seven methods of contraception including long acting reversible contraception. Services include pregnancy testing, prenatal vitamins, weights, blood pressure, screening and treatments for vaginal infections, and colposcopy with biopsy tests. Referrals can be provided when a need is indicated. The agency also has a victim advocate on staff for victims of criminal acts. In 2017, the agency had over 4,650 client visits.
professional services include certified nurse practitioners, licensed practical nurses, medical director for support and guidance, plus a volunteer physician. All trained in executing title x programming for direct services.
community services: administers and assists with annual needs assessment for the community as required by grant funder, plus network with all other community social service providers focusing on referral for meeting needs of clients. The agency also provides education to the community on a number of health, safety, and prevention issues.
public education: provides outreach to the public via mass media activities plus group presentations on availability of services, and information and education regarding reproductive health, victims of sexual abuse, and preconception health for positive birth outcomes.
