Mission: Our priorities FCI works within the comprehensive, rights-based approach to sexual and reproductive health endorsed by the international community at UN conferences over the past decade. We focus on the following program areas: Adolescent sexual and reproductive health, to equip young people with information, skills, and confidence to enjoy healthy and productive lives, free of unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. Safe motherhood, to ensure that women have access to the services and support they need to go through pregnancy and childbirth safely. HIV/AIDS, to prevent the spread of HIV and to advocate for greater integration of HIV/AIDS prevention, testing and treatment services with other sexual and reproductive health programs. Within these three focus areas, our work also addresses other urgent reproductive health priorities, such as unsafe abortion, gender violence, and unmet needs for family planning.
Programs: Country level technical assistance - building the capacity of partners in africa, latin america, and the caribbean to design, implement, and evaluate national strategies and model programs.
global advocacy and information sharing - strengthening national and international commitment and resources for people-centered policies and programs, and encouraging action through the exchange of information and experience.
