Programs: Family support - the purpose is to help prevent family stress and exhaustion, to offer opportunities for rest and relaxation, and to support families with a developmentally disabled individual. This program also benefits the developmentally disabled person by providing an opportunity to experience new social and recreational contacts and activities. Additionally, the program provides support to help individuals with developmental disabilities explore the world of work. The program served 163 participants.
homemaker - screened, trained, and paid homemakers provide light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, laundry assistance, transportation, and companionship to frail, elderly individuals in order to assist them to remain in their own homes. Other agencies, such as visiting nurses and meals on wheels, provide supporting services. Depending on needs, this service is provided weekly, bi-weekly or more than one day per week. The program served 236 participants.
counseling - traditional counseling to individuals, couples, and families to restore balance to individuals and to damaged relationships, prevent child abuse and neglect by early intervention, and to help families and individuals cope with crises. Serves individuals who live or work in the capital region of the state of new york. The majority of clients are white adults between the ages of 20 and 60. The program served 46 participants.
