1) Fair and equitable distribution of research funds by our government for all diseases. Our goal is to change the current budgeting system to a system that takes into consideration a disease’s mortality rate and other secondary factors such as diseases that cause great suffering but have low mortality rates. Diseases, previously underfunded, will receive significantly increased funding. Get more facts about how money is allocated and how you can make a difference. 2) Change organ donor policies. One person dies every hour who was on the waiting list or who was removed from the list because they became too sick to be transplanted. There are 107,000+ patients waiting for an organ transplant, a number that continues to rise. We need new organ donor policies to reverse America's donor crisis. I have personally seen lives saved by members of this foundation who have come to the rescue of families in dire circumstances by intervening on the behalf of their loved ones and helping them navigate the systems needed to proceed with gift of life surgeries. Also because the activism of tens of thousands of members, pressure on our government is getting the attention of our political leaders and media towards the need for bio-medical research for those diseases that are impacting our society the most and causing great suffering and hardship.
