Small town...BIG DREAM
I was 12 years old when the Evan Oglesby Charitable Foundation started. I'm a former NFL veteran who grew up in a small town where resources were limited. I never met a professional athlete before, so I grew up thinking television was another world because there was no example for me to follow to become successful. There were a few from my hometown who went professional but they never came back to pave the way. One of the professionals from my hometown came back and hosted a camp. I knew my mother couldn't afford the fee, so I asked the women of the church to do yard work to pay for my admission. All this excitement to meet my first professional athlete to end up being highly disappointed in the absence of the professional. I told myself that day that if I ever make it to the professional level I would do my best to provide the youth with a positive environment for renewable academic services and athletic training to empower self-growth and positive community awareness
Our mission is to empowers and strengthen youth to achieve excellence in education and athletics that will create opportunities for success.
