Mission: Eternal threads mission is weaving hope and justice to improve the lives of women and children most at risk of extreme poverty, trafficking and other forms of exploitation by providing sustainable livelihoods through income generating projects.
Programs: As a member of the fair trade federation, eternal threads accomplishes the initial and largest benefit to artisan producers by purchasing their handmade goods at fair trade wages or above in most cases. The purchase of goods provides sustainable income to several hundred familes in eleven countries afghanistan, albania, bulgaria, ghana, guatemala, india, madagascar, mongolia, nepal, swaziland, and uganda. Our mission is to give them work, assist in the marketing of their handmade goods, and return profits to their communities as well as others for charitable and educational purposes.
additional benefit is achieved through distribution of donations in nepal for anti-trafficking efforts and project development to give rescued girls sustainable income. As many as 200 girls per month are rescued from traffickers by manned border surveillance units, vocational and literacy training for rescued as well as at risk girls is provided at the safe house and in village sewing centers. Donated sewing machines are distributed to assist them in their struggle to have sustainable income.
