To meet the needs of a continually changing envioronment, the association is chartered to expand esd awareness through standards development, educational programs, local chapters, publications, tutuorial, certifications, and symposia.
Programs: The electrostatic discharge association is a voluntary professional association founded in 1982 to advance the theory and practice of electrostatic problem solving. With more than 2,000 members in 20 countries worldwide, the esda is now the forum for electrostatic discharge (esd) control and associated phenomena. Our initial focus on esd control for electronic components has expanded to the esda becoming the recognized global leader in serving the industry in the field of electrostatic mitigation. The esda expands esd awareness through technical tutorials, seminars, symposia and by establishing industry standards. Various workshop and educational programs, publications, certifications and committee work further promote the exchange of technical information.
