Mission: EMPOWER.org was formally established on November 19, 1999, as the education and research arm of Empower America. The organization provides information and promotes dialogue on models of reform for the antiquated public systems of K-12 education, national security, the IRS tax code, and Social Security, as well as for Internet and technology-related policy. On each of these issues, EMPOWER.org looks to empirical research and innovative free market solutions to shape its policies for reform. Americans for Victory Over Terrorism (AVOT) is a unique project chaired by William J. Bennett that addresses the present threats so as to minimize future terrorism and ideologies that support it. The project seeks to educate the public on the nature and threat of radical Islamism and terrorist organizations and the states that sponsor them, as well as to help address present discontentment with American ideals as seen in schools, on college campuses, and in op-ed columns. EMPOWER.org is sponsored by an independent Board of Directors and is a non-partisan, non-profit 501c(3) organization.
