Mission: Since 1996, we have aggressively promoted a unique model of community development focused on improving the lives of disadvantaged individuals while helping them to organize their neighborhoods for greater self-determination. From a base in four historically African American neighborhoods in downtown Chapel Hill and Carrboro, North Carolina we have developed into a regional CDC serving Orange and Chatham Counties, and are strategizing for expansion into a third county here in central North Carolina.
