Mission: The mission of shine some light, inc. (shine)is to provide humanitarian aid to the poor and needy in the united states and abroad, through mobilizing local human and financial resources for projects that contribute to eradicating abject poverty.
Programs: Shine provided leadership assistance and initial funding to support construction of a "children's village" in haiti. This included land acquisition, well drilling, and construction of a block perimeter wall around the property. The second phase of the project included rainwater collection and storage, construction of a 25,000 gallon underground water storage cistern, an underground piped water distribution system, desalinization equipment and pumps and a water tower/equipment room. The village was successfully completed, and a groundbreaking ceremony was held in march 2014. shine partnered with global impact fund's "water for thirty thousand" initiative to start a for-profit clean drinking water company that will provide clean drinking water for some of the poorest people in the world who lack access to water or resources to obtain it. Shine entered into an agreement with international water technology corporation (iwtc) to create a clean drinking water facility in karachi pakistan, a city of 21 million. As of february 2014, shine has made an investment in iwtc of $60,000 to forward this program. Shine provides ongoing advisory and consulting services to this program.
