Both of my daughters attended Emerson Academy starting at 8 weeks and 12 weeks old. Their early adolescence has been molded and influenced as much by Emerson as it has at home. The staff at Emerson Academy comes in each day with so much love and caring in their hearts for each child they teach. My daughters spent their days learning, creating young relationships with children of all abilities, and preparing for kindergarten far beyond what I could have accomplished on my own. The respect, understanding and compassion my girls have for all people stems from their experiences at Emerson Academy. Emerson is a part of our family forever. We are truly thankful for our time there. I recommended this school when my children attended it, and I will continue to do so.

I tried 2 other day care centers before I found Emerson. I have twin toddlers and one is autistic. The highly trained teachers embraced his differences and he has thrived since starting Emerson. He usually struggles with change and transitions, but they have been seamless here. Both boys love it at Emerson!

I have two children that have attended Emerson Academy over the past 3 years, and I can't say enough good things about this nonprofit school! Emerson Academy was recommended to us after our son was asked to leave a few other childcare facilities in the area due to "behavior issues." After starting at Emerson, having a director with extensive child development education, and the support of the teachers we were able to gradually make progress towards huge impovements in what was actually a developmental delay contributing to behavior concerns.

Our son loved his time at Emerson learning in an interactive environment, playing in the huge outdoor space several times a day, helping grow all sorts of plants, feeding the animals, and now as a summer camp kid going on fun field trips everyday! Our daughter attended as an infant and toddler, and the affection and individualized care she received was more than any parent can hope for when you're leaving such a little one in the hands of others.

The directors and staff at Emerson Academy have made a positive impact on our son and our family as a whole. We will be forever grateful & spread the word about them any chance we get!

We absolutely love Emerson Academy. My son was enrolled at another school before Emerson and would cry every time we dropped him off. I thought it was just because it was his first time away from us, but after it kept going on I listened to my intuition and took him out. I was looking for a school that would be nurturing, and would help my son transition more comfortably - and Emerson was that school for us. My son took to the school right away and stopped crying during drop offs! The teachers are very welcoming and hands-on and provide a creative, open environment for the kids to learn and play in. The directors, Sarah and Jennifer, are super interactive with all the kids as well and take time to talk to each parent. My son has blossomed since he has been here, and we couldn't be more thankful!

Emerson Academy is locally owned and operated, which is important to us. They encourage play, and the kids go outside several times a day. They practice conscious discipline (google it!), which has been helpful for our family to learn and practice as well. They have goats and pigs that the kids can feed from time to time, and a garden too. What most struck me on my first visit was how bright and clean it was (so many preschools smell either like diapers or heavy room fresheners!). If you ever have a concern, the directors are happy to meet with you and answer any questions. I also love that they are open to children with all abilities, as I believe having friends with challenges my child may not have will instill compassion and understanding in him.

Horrible place. Chickens were wandering around, standing water, wet hay and the children do not get to see the animals or garden a lot even though it was hyped up during the tour. Over priced and so surprised they are able to qualify for a non-profit. Beware, we cannot even give one star except the page make us check at least one!

We moved our two kids to Emerson from a big chain daycare when I changed jobs. One of the things I really loved about it was that it seemed to mix the feel of an at-home care facility and a professional center. The facility is welcoming and homey, and just also happens to have two of the coolest outdoor play areas I've ever seen! The teachers know all the kids in all the classes; I would hear about my kids' day from two to three teachers each day when I arrived. They engage in gentle discipline and treat the kids with incredible respect and empathy. The kids get to participate in community gardening and caring for animals and spend a great deal of their day outside, which was important to me. And the fact that a percentage of their student population has special needs made me so glad that my two kiddos would be growing up with inclusion and tolerance an integral part of the way they interact with others. We don't have any other family in town; the staff at Emerson became our second family. I highly recommend Emerson to everyone.
