Programs: Abcd training and coaching: during 2017, embrace richmond continued to coach and train both organizational leaders as well as community leaders in asset-based community development. As of december 31, 2017, abcd efforts were underway in the north central, battery park, shady hill and broadwater neighborhoods. With leaders preparing to launch projects in the southwood and providence park neighborhoods.
youth development: during 2017, 27 youth participated in the young leaders program with 11 of them moving into paid opportunities. In addition, we added the "unsung heroes project" through which we are engaging youth in the collection and telling of stories of neighborhood residents who have positively impacted their neighborhoods.
brookland park area collective: during 2017, embrace richmond worked with resident leaders to begin the process of establishing the brookland park collective as a stand-alone association. The number of citizen driven teams grew from 4 to 6 with over 150 residents engaged at various levels and 15 residents serving in key leadership roles.
