This damage deposit, rental, or mortgage assistance is provided to people in order to preserve their housing stability and avoid homelessness. Screening - elim screens all hennepin county families residing in hennepin county shelters and refers them to appropriate services. Rapid exit - staff work at hennepin county shelters to aid families in leaving the shelter system. Elim assists families who are experiencing homelessness in finding affordable housing with coordination and services and apartment search guidance. Transitional housing - elim operates shared housing, elim rented housing, and market rate rentals partially subsidized by elim. Support services are provided with the housing assistance. Housing is provided for up to 24 months. Permanent supportive - elim provides permanent housing in the community with support service to people who have utilized homeless shelters multiple times and also have a mental health, chemical abuse, and/or hiv/aids issue. Housing is provided through the group residential housing program, group residential housing program: long-term homeless, and hud. Tenant based rental assistance - elim provides tenant based rent subsidy programs: - the home program provides housing subsidies for families, youth, and individuals in anoka county. - the housing trust funds provide rental subsidies for families and individuals leaving the shelter system or in a housing crisis. - the long term homeless funds provide subsidies for families who have experienced long term homelessness, defined as being homeless four times in the last three years or continually homeless for one year or longer. Homelessness prevention and rapid re-housing - elim assists homeless families and singles in hennepin county funded shelters find housing. Elim advocates assist with transportation to view apartments, application fees, child care, moving assistance and finding furniture.
