Mission: The electronic components association (eca) represents the electronics industry sector comprised of designers, manufacturers and suppliers of passive and active electronic components, component arrays and assemblies, and commercial and industrial electronic equipment and supplies. Eca provides companies with a dynamic link into a network of programs and activities offering business and technical information; market research, trends and analysis; access to industry and government leaders; technical and educational training; and more. In addition, eca provides unique opportunities to cooperate and coordinate with affiliated sectors and associations to support issues and interests that are common to all manufacturers in the electronic industries.
Programs: "market forecast to industry" provided collection, analysis, compilation and dissemination of monthly statistical industry data that tracked manufacturing output and provided future market scenarios quarterly and annually.
developed and published industry standards in key process areas. Provided for and managed the standards development process conducted by industry engineering committees. Which resulted in the publishment of industry voluntary standards to promote trade and commerce.
addressed public issues on behalf of electronic components manufacturers in our membership. Identified issues and facilitated industry and government communications. Addressed proactive advocacy in legislature and regulatory areas to effectively address challenges of industry global competitiveness.
eca worked to enhance the competitiveness of the electronic components industry in today's global market place. Eca provided an organized structure through which member companies developed an industry position and worked to effect meaningful policy results.
