I have been communicated back and forth with an extremely rude and not helpful staff member A. Barnes.
My experience with this leadership camp is that they are not very organized. They changed the dates on us randomly. And I have not been contacted regarding payment. Camp is an entire month yet this program "to foster education" is exploiting this situation for finacial gain. There was a miscommunication on both accountings part and other staff for failure to provide notice that funds were being taken out.
I am extremely disappointed about the situation. I truly wanted my daughter to experience an educational experience that I was not privileged to have because of my low-income upbringing.
I hope that this nonprofit one day will ACTUALLY helps children who cannot afford to attend the camp such as my child rather than charging those who already cannot afford the camp INTEREST!
HAPPY SUMMER TO EVERYONE BECAUSE MY DAUGHTER WONT BE HAVING ONE THANKS TO LONESTAR LEADERSHIP CAMP.
Education In Action is a cool and fun place to work. It is the best summer job! It is my home away from home. The directors of Education in Action are awesome. They have done all the planning and lessons for you. At the camps you have a place to stay, three meals each day and some awesome t-shirts to wear at the camp. Once the camp is over, you can wear them in your hometown. You will get to see some great places in Texas. The true bonus is the outstanding student leaders you will meet from the great state of Texas. Each and every summer, I have an awesome time and always learn something new and cool.
Education in Action is a great program with great benefits for students as well as the facilitators. This organization goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that students are learning at a high level, and the facilitators are all teachers that extend their careers into the summer. The venues are all educational, fun, and challenging. It was a very beneficial program for my children, and I have started working in the summers there to share my love for education with students.

This past summer was my first summer to work for Education in Action. I have been a teacher for 31 years, and this is one of the most rewarding programs I have ever been a part of. The students, other facilitators, and the entire staff work together to make each and every week very enjoyable. I learned a lot about history in an area where I grew up most of my life, but more importantly, I learned a lot about myself as a teacher and a person. Education in Action is definitely a top notch organization for both students and those that are fortunate enough to get to work these super camps.
I have been teaching for 14 years and participated in Educaiton in action summer camp last year. EIA is a well kept secret awaiting to be discovered!!! It combines many aspects Of leadership and education into a week long program with fun filled activities!
I love Education in Action. My first experience with them was while I was a forth grade teacher. The level of organization and attention to details made for an amazing experience for my students. The professional staff engaged my students while on the bus as well as at the Texas State Capitol and the Bob Bullock Museum. This was the est field trip of my 25 year teaching career.

I have worked for Education in Action for seven amazing years! I look forward to the summer month because the camps are not only educated and fun, but the kiddos learn so much about themselves and leadership skills. From the well thought out curriculum to the mastery of the logistics for 49+ campers each week, this organization ROCKS!!!
Education in Action (EIA) hosts a great week-long summer program that practices leadership skills through Texas history activities. Students explore different sites in history, STEM, and the arts to learn about different leaders of Texas and their responsibilities to lead the future. As a small-group leader, I found that EIA is such a refreshing reassurance each summer after a long school-year when I can sometimes feel discouraged.
I highly recommend EIA to any educators looking for summer work, but especially any parents of 4th-8th graders looking for a camp that will enrich and pour into their child in a well-rounded experience!!!
I really enjoy being able to bring to life the content students get in the classroom through the discover Texas field trips. And the application of their knowledge through leadership discussions during the lone star leadership academy is fantastic.
I attended the Lone Star Leadership Academy as a student. I learned many great leadership and communication skills all while exploring Texas. Now as a teacher, I work as a facilitator for these trips because of the impact it made on me. One of the best parts about the trips is when we have students who are shy and reserved the first day or two but completely blossom into a great leader by the end of the week because they have found the skills they already possess to be a great leader and how to use them.
I had heard good things about Education in Action, but when I got to experience them for myself it was Inspirational! I saw first hand all the care, kindness, thoughtfulness, planning and preparedness that goes into the learning experiences set up for the students. I feel that every child should be able to experience the offerings of this organization. With the donations that they receive they are able to give scholarships to those less fortunate. Their blessed by others and in turn they bless others. The joy and the belonging that I saw in the students faces was priceless!
I have been a facilitator for Education in Action for couple years. The curriculum that is developed for the students is amazing. They gain so much knowledge in having hands on learning, as well as building their leadership skills which will propel them to their individual goals in life. I will also recommend Education in Action to students parents. It is a wonderful experience for all parties involved in this program.
I love that Education in Action teaches kids about our Government. This program is an exceptional tool to get kids inspired to be good stewards and citizens. The company offers so many products to help with homeschool programs, supplement public school as well as offering a private school. I am continuously impressed by this company and what they do for the kiddos!
Education is a wonderful organization that provides a great service to schools in the state of Texas. As an educator, it is so nice to have all of the work for a field trip done for you. The day of the trip, it is such a smooth and organized process. The kids have a blast all day and are constantly engaged. Everyone that I was in contact with from the organization, from the office, to the trainer, to the day of the trip, was professional and extremely helpful. I highly recommend them!!!
This organization is refusing to refund money not only to me but to hundreds of parents that paid for field trips cancelled due to covid19. They are robbing us saying a refund will bankrupt them. Please save yourself a headache and find a more honest compamy
Education in Action has an excellent Leadership Academy for students in grades fourth through eighth. Students have the opportunity to visit important Texas landmarks, libraries, and experience learning Texas history live. As a facilitator, I have increased my knowledge in Texas history and enjoyed all of the field trips. I would highly recommend this academy to teachers and students for the upcoming summer.
This is an amazing program where students have the opportunity to step out of their comfort zones, meet new people, share experiences and gain valuable leadership skills that they will take with them throughout their life. As a participant 12 years ago, I was personally able to step out of my quiet shell and interact with other students who shared similar interests as I did. The skills I learned at camp I took with me to leadership roles in high school, to college as vice president of my sorority, and now to my role as a teacher. You will never regret sending a student to this program!
Education in Action is a great organization that offers several ways to help students grow. They offer a "Discover Texas" program that allows schools to sign their students up for a field trip to Austin, San Antonio, or Waco fully staffed with tours, activities, food, and transportation all provided. Education in Action also offers a "Lone Star Leadership Academy" during the summer that takes motivated leaders on a week long adventure.
This organization is great! I've worked with them for several years now for both programs and they really have the children's interests at heart.
I believe the field trip was more of a history lesson not empowering children. The group leaders were not energized or upbeat enough to get kiddos engaged. Not as organized as it should have been. I was very disappointed with our tour guides. One tour guide was rude to me and a teacher. From what I could tell the kiddos enjoyed the movie at the museum more than any other place visited. This was my first student field trip and more than likely my last. I think the field trip could have been better with different tour guides.
Education In Action in giving students the tools they need to make the world a better place.
I began working as a field trip facilitator for Education in Action's Discover Texas Field Trips . I could not believe it, as this was a dream come true. It's not everyday that a person learns that you can be employed to go on fourth grade field trips!
Since then I have learned how this company is so much more than a day of fun and educational learning activities for young children. This company is providing potentially eye opening experiences to many children who would maybe never get the opportunity to travel outside of their city limits.
A simple trip to the state capitol could spark the candle of potential in a future supreme court judge. These experiences that we have in childhood often shape who we will be for the rest of our lives. I have had multiple children tell me that a field that I had the opportunity to be apart of was "The best day of their lives!" I am blessed to be apart of this moment with them.
Education In Action is the reason this moment exists.
My love and passion began to grow as I was asked to be one of the assistant directors for the Lone Star Leadership Academy, sponsored by Education in Action, where students come from ALL over Texas to learn about leadership. Every lesson and activity is built to positively influence the children. Again, I felt honored to be apart of the team that is fostering leadership and success into the lives of future adults.
At LSLA, all of the students have to be nominated for camp by their teachers and administrators. I witnessed many very shy children come out of their shell and open up to the world. They gained inspiration from new friends, new experiences and tons of information and memories that they can take back to families and friends. They learned the skills that everyone needs to be successful in life such as proper teamwork, communication skills, and putting a plan into action. These are skills that we all need to be productive members of society.
Now I work in the office and as a teaching assistant at Education in Actions's North Texas Leadership Academy. I am blown away by the educational opportunities that are present all around me. The teachers nurture the intellectual curiosity of the children. They learn about multiple cultures and are tolerant of each other.
Any student that is fortunate enough to attend this school is going to prepared for life. Education In Action is the provider. The staff believes in providing experiential learning opportunities to children to help them become natural leaders and allow powerful movements of goodness to be pushed into the world. Whether it be for a day, a week, or an entire school year, Education In Action inspires.

EIA is the most Stellar way for young people to experience the world around them!!! I have faithfully directed and facilitated programs for 13 years. EIA is the hands-on way of creating leaders for our state! EIA is affordable; it is about the engagement of the student not how much they can pay! It is AMAZING to see a leader grow in a week just from the EIA experience! Many of my students who have participated came home and ran for class officer, tried out for cheer, developed community service projects, researched new professional opportunities, and much much more. EIA takes students who are already leaders and makes them Lone Star Leaders, creating a better tomorrow for our state and country!
