I have been working with Education for Hope for over two years. It is incredible how this organization is changing the lives of not only individuals, but communities. By sponsoring nursing education costs for individuals in Uganda, the new nurses are able to improve their own lives and also go on to improve the health of their communities. Education in the U.S. is very expensive, but not near so in Uganda. However, the poverty and geographical barriers make it very difficult for the population. With very reasonable funding, we are able to sponsor and support the entire educational costs of the students to graduate with a nursing certificate. The touching stories from the students and graduates tell us the stories of changed lives.
Education for Hope is helping to change the world by educating young men and women in the field of Nursing!
The Education for Hope Foundation identifies qualified candidates who desire to complete a certified Nursing or Midwifery Certificate program in the Uganda education system. The Foundation provides funding for accepted students who wish to pursue either a Nursing or Midwifery certificate programs. The Foundation provides funding in the range of $500 -$ 750 per semester to the school of each student for the completion of a 2 ½ year Nursing or Midwifery certificate degree. Each student is required to complete 5 semesters to qualify for the Certificate of Nursing. All the financial support is need-based and distributed directly to the schools each semester. Our long-term goal is to educate more than 100 young adults allowing them to rise out of poverty, changing their future and the future of the health care system. We have already witnessed an impact.
