Mission: EMHS was founded in 1917 by the leaders of Mennonite Churches in Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland. The founders' primary concern was that young people receive a challenging education that prepares them for life, Christian ministry, music in the church and the work world. Continuing in this tradition, EMHS seeks to help each student discover their unique God-given gifts and abilities and use them effectively after high school. EMHS utilizes the concepts of a unique gifted behaviors curriculum as a basis for developing its challenging program. As a result, students are showing consistently high marks on standardized tests, and affirm their education at EMHS through high levels of performance in college writing classes.
Programs: Provide elementary, middle and secondary school education in a christian atmosphere. Average attendance, 398 students.
