Programs: East new york restoration ldc was incorporated to oversee the implementation of the community benefits agreement with the related companies, for the expansion of the gateway mall center. Its prime functions are job readiness and referral, small business promotion and support, and community relations which includes a community presence and continuous initiatives to enhance and bridge the community to business. These functions have been apparent in the creation of the job development center which houses the ready 4 work program for job readiness and eventual referral; opening of a community relations office in the district; multiple job fairs that have been hosted successfully within the east new york community; direct referrals to various gateway mall retail tenants; several small business workshops that have been conducted in collaboration with the us small business administration and america's small business development center; hosting numerous information sessions for potential subcontract service companies (mbe's/wmbe's and lbe's) to submit for subcontracts for pre and post construction contracts; outreach meetings with various new york city housing authority developments and private developments to keep community residents abreast of opportunities; participation in various community events where information was tabled for public information purposes; a news media site that was launched to promote events, highlight community partners, encourage and promote arts, culture, healthy living and overall community enhancement
