Mission: The mission of the east bay children's law offices, inc. (ebclo) is to protect and defend the rights of children and youth through effective, vigorous and compassionate legal advocacy. Ebclo strives to provide a voice for children in and out of court and to promote positive outcomes for our clients.
Programs: Alameda county child dependency legal services - appointed by the juvenile court east bay children's law offices, inc. (ebclo) represents children who have been abused or neglected by their parents. Ebclo provided legal services to 1,645 individual clients in juvenile court hearings and helped them with education, health, public benefits and placement issues.
probate guardianship - ebclo is appointed by the court to represent children in probate guardianship hearings to help resolve the probate guardiansip matters and protect the child's interests. Utilizing an attorney-social worker team, ebclo investigates the child's circumstances and makes recommendations to the court.
care (community-based advocacy for resources and education) program provides comprehensive legal advocacy beyond the juvenile courtroom in three specialized areas-educaton (special education services, school stability and school discipline); transition aged youth (extending eligibility for foster care services through age 21); and cross-over youth (trauma informed advocacy for clients at risk of exiting the child welfare system and moving in to the juvenile delinquency system).
