Mission: Our mission is to interpret the history and natural features of the zoar wetland through education and recreation.
Programs: New this year, the wetland hosted a preschool summer camp attended by several dozen children, with teacher guided activities and play. Also hosted a weekly outdoor yoga program. And, hosted an annual 5k walking program for the gemutlich wanderers, attended by 31 people. Hosted 5 family summer events at the picnic pavilion attended by several hundred visitors. The wetland is also a favorite location for professional photography shoots. Our volunteers worked with a team of tuscarawas valley high school students to plant dozens of native river birch trees for their annual pay-it-forward earth day project. We also work with local scout groups to give them opportunities for badge-related projects. We still host a popular geo-caching route for hidden treasure boxes throughout the wetland. In addition to the planned events this year, the wetland is always host to hundreds of visitors who enjoy kayaking, birding, photography, family gatherings, and hiking year-round.
