I am proud to say that I have worked with and volunteered with Durga tree. I did not realize the importance of this human rights issue before I was involved with Durga! The organization is made up of passionate board members, volunteers, and supporters who truly put their hearts and souls into making a difference in the lives of those who have been effected by trafficking. They also work diligently to educate others on this important issue that is happening all over the world.
From inception to five years later, Durga Tree continues doing great work helping survivors of trafficking.
From initially hosting a fundraising gala to put a roof on a shelter in India, to helping single mothers in New Jersey, to providing housing in Guatemala for rescued moms and children, their work matters.
There’s no organization with higher integrity and contribution.

Durga Tree International is as impressive as they come. The level of their commitment to excellence in every detail, both big and small, is unprecedented. The transparency of this organization has exceeded any level of expectation I had as they continue to update me on where my donations are going, and what the organization is involved in. To know that I've had a direct impact in helping to build a shelter in India, or providing cribs for babies of trafficked girls in Mexico, or building a school in Cameroon...priceless. The enthusiasm is contagious and I can't wait to be a part of whatever Durga Tree creates next!
From the annual Gala that we attend every year, to the walk we do in the park each year, Durga Tree is an amazing charity. It really changes lives. From the young woman being trafficked, Durga tree is a lifeline that helps them get away from the sex trade and recapture their lives.

Durga Tree International is on a forever quest for the next step for the survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery. They continue to build awareness and raise much needed funds for the ongoing projects it supports. I am empowered when I participate with this organization and they are consistently on the path to eradicate this plague. I am always grateful to be in service to these children who can't speak for themselves.
I am so proud to be a supporter of Durga Tree International.
I would love to share just one recent example of why I have, and will continue to fiercely align myself with this life changing organization. In June of this year, Beth Tiger, Founder and Executive Director, informed me that due to the recent efforts of all the Durga Tree supporters, she was able to take one girl from the waiting list to be enrolled in one of the Durga Tree shelter programs in Thailand for the year. Beth sent me a photograph and shared some information about our 15 yr old “adopted daughter” Nana. She said she wanted to share her gratitude with each supporter because in Beth’s words - we are all Nana’s parents for this year.
Beth went on to tell me that Nana is from a large family. Her parents are laborers from Chiang Rai. They are very poor and move around a lot. So when Nana hit puberty she became very At-Risk. If we hadn’t moved her into this home, she would probably be trapped in the Bangkok slavery market right now. Thankfully, because of Durga Tree, instead Nana is now sheltered, receiving secondary education, receiving ESL, she is fed, she’s clothed and she’s receiving therapeutic care.
Nana is now safe and learning to become a proud and productive human being.
It’s important to know Nana is just one example of the many girls rescued by Durga Tree and each rescue is made possible because of every single person who supports each Durga Tree campaign. This means the world to me because I know we are changing lives - empowering one human soul at a time. All thanks to the work Durga Tree is doing.
I had the pleasure of traveling with the Durga Tree International team on a service immersion trip to Thailand. I was able to personally see the impact their work is making, meet the trafficking victims being rehabilitated and whose lives have been positively improved and changed. It was incredibly rewarding to see the education, training, life skills and empowerment these young people were receiving, all as a result of Durga's work with and support of them. I am proud to be aligned with this non-profit and extremely admirable of the work they are doing to improve the lives of so many across the globe.
Durga Tree International is a pleasure to volunteer for, not only because they are a driving force behind abolition, but because they are incredibly transparent when it comes to where they donor dollars go. They also are incredibly thorough at doing their homework around their partner organizations that receive money for their programs from DTI. Integrity is extremely important to Durga Tree international.

It has been my pleasure to volunteer for Durga Tree Int'l since its inception. As a volunteer, it have always been treated as a valued member of Durga Tree and have had nothing but outstanding experiences with the team. Each member, whether they are staff or volunteers, works seamlessly with the others to insure that Durga Tree's mission and commitments are honored. I have never worked with a more competent team of people that are full of integrity and perseverance. They truly are Love in Action!
Durga is an amazing organization because is truly committed to stop modern slavery throughout the planet, and here in the USA. It’s implementing programs that would give the victims tools to create a future for themselves so they can thrive. Also, Durga is inspiring young people to be part of the solution.
Working with and volunteering for Durga Tree has really opened my eyes to the terrible epidemic of human trafficking in the US and all around the world. Traveling to Guatemala on the Service Immersion made it real for me as I saw young girls who Durga Tree supports. These girls who were 10, 11, 12 years old who were sexually trafficked and some who resulted in pregnancies care for small babies while they themselves just wanted to play and have fun was heartbreaking. I couldn't imagine the turmoil they had been through, meanwhile they were so happy to be in the shelter despite what they have gone through. It really humbles you to see what is really going on outside your bubble. The fundraising efforts Durga Tree makes is amazing and to be able to support those that truly need it will be something I will always support.

I have just recently started to volunteer with Durga Tree International and am excited to help out such a great cause. I am the daughter of Tim Tiger and also his and Beth Tiger's Executive Assistant and I think this is a great foundation to help with human trafficking. I had attended the Masquerade Ball in November 2013 and thought it was a beautiful event with all the speeches from the different team members and the different donations that some had made for auction. You can tell everyone was very excited to help out and donate to the cause. I am excited for this years ball as well! I look forward to getting more involved in this foundation and helping out as much as I can.

Durga Tree is an incredible organization that I am so blessed and honored to be a part of. Their international work towards the eradication of human slavery is an admirable example of building a safe and empowered worldwide community through advocating for personal efforts in conscious consumerism and safety, as well as collaborating with other organizations around the globe.
Review from Guidestar
The past year has been a year of wonderful transition and international growth for Durga.
We completed our Travel Safety Tool Kit and will be offering at no cost digitally to any student who travels abroad.
9 young women graduated from our Thai Bloom program and are making jewelry for their own businesses as well as a local NGO. We are now sponsoring additional at risk young women in Thailand.
Our conscious shopping guide and presentation has given over a 1000 consumers tools to make fair trade purchases and reduce their personal slavery imprint.
I have travelled to Asia and done oversight for our organization as well as several places around the globe educating people about modern slavery and what they can do to reduce the growth of this epidemic.

I am blessed to be on the board for this incredible organization. The Durga Tree community has awakened my desire to be an active participant in changing the world. It is exciting to see how much we have been able to accomplish in such a short period of time and what we have planned for this year.
I am also in awe of all the courageous survivors we serve every day. When I need a reminder of my blessings all I have to do is think about the smiles on the faces of those who have suffered so much but hope for a better tomorrow.
Durga Tree International offers that hope and I am humbled to be a small part of that.
Being a youth ambassador and traveling to Guatemala with Durga Tree two years in a row, I have learned and experienced so much and have firsthand watched Durga transform the lives of many. The passion of Durga's team members is unparalelled and is clearly reflected in their work. They continue to spread awareness about and fight against the very prominent issue in this world that is human trafficking, and I am constantly inspired by their call to action!
I am so grateful to have been introduced to Durga Tree by my friensm Eileen Geraghty, Durga's Community Development Director. Though her I met Durga’s founder, Beth Tiger, who is so inspiring, strong, and passionate about making women’s lives better around the world. Last year, Eileen invited me to join her at her table for a Durga fundraising dinner. I had such a great time meeting the eclectic group of dynamic women who were at the table and the event. My favorite part of the evening was that the conversations we had were so authentic. There was no talk of hair, weight, clothing, or any of the other things that can make us feel less than enough. Instead, we spoke about real ways that we can help women around the world who are suffering. I could feel the power in the room! Last February, my business partner and I had the opportunity to host another fundraiser for Durga Tree called Evening with the Angels at Body Positive Works, our integrative wellness center in Saddle River, NJ. It was such a special evening and again we met so many people who are dedicated to making this world a better place. Durga is such a special organization that is doing great things with so much love.
I have know the energized folks at Durga for several years now and they are true blue. I have attended fundraisers, joined in on movie showings, and actually called Durga directly to report a suspect moment. They immediately referred me to the correct people and I was able to report a possible crime.
I find the entire staff responsible and some of the most honest and ethical people I know. I highly recommend everyone joining in their cause and/or calling them for advice.
I have worked in numerous capacities with Durga Tree since its inception. As a donator, volunteer and former board member I can tell you the level of dedication to their mission is unparalleled and the integrity and transparency they operate with, incredible. The work they are doing is making a huge impact on lives across the entire globe and it's honor to witness and be a small part of.
Durga Tree International continues to make tremendous strides against human trafficking through its authentic collaboration with partner organizations. This is a unique approach to this epidemic yet critical in the creation of a global movement to eradicate slavery once and for all. Durga attracts passionate volunteers who dedicate themselves to both raising awareness and funds for our programs and have a very small part-time staff in order to preserve funds to sustain those programs. I am privileged to work growing our community of abolitionists. As a lifelong activist, it is an honor to work within an organization that provides hope to those we serve by creating educational and economic opportunities to protect them from re-exploitation. I continue to be challenged and inspired by Durga as we work to turn survivors into thrivers.

I am very proud to be involved with Durga Tree Internatiomal. Although my affiliation with this non-profit is less than one year, I am inspired by the drive, determination and dedication of the leadership. Their vision is beyond anything I have ever encountered in my many years of non-profit work. I am fully committed to our collaborative efforts to eradicate slavery in our lifetime.
It is my passion to help others, through education and empowerment - Durga Tree provides the perfect way to do this, while allowing full transparency about where your donation dollars go. This organization is 95% volunteer base and even the people who are "employed" are part-time at minimum pay, to ensure that almost every dollar donated goes directly to those at-risk who need it most.
This group is very dedicated to the work they do - after talking with Beth and Jess, you can tell that they are invested in helping others. They are always great at sharing the progress made with the donations they receive, through their website and social media, as well as the newsletters emailed out every quarter. It is exciting to see how far my $10 a month can go, and also to be kept updated on the opportunities to help out that they are sure to offer. No effort or donation is too small to make a huge impact!
The work of Durga Tree International is so inspiring. The lives that have been touched and changed for the better will span many generations. Donating to this cause is truly a gift that will keep on giving!
So excited for another year of commitment to help our nonprofit to grow even more , we know how important is this work we need make a change now !
Feel proud to be part of this movement.

I have been actively involved with Durga Tree International for the past 8 months, and I am forever changed in the most positive, heartfelt way. From the devoted co-founders, incredible board members, and all of the amazing volunteers, DTI embraces the art of collaboration and truly understands the wide, multi-layer scope of humam trafficking across the globe and what it will take to dissolve it.
Durga Tree International, Inc. is a remarkable organization, tackling one of the worlds most intractable problems. The leadership is passionate, engaged and transparent and the impact of the programs is a result. DTI is committed to the folks they serve and the staff and volunteers who work throughout the organization. This level of engagement keeps energy levels high, a key factor when you're working with such a tough issue. DTI does a great job!
It is an honor to be the Executive Director of a non profit that not only cares for every person we serve but our volunteer/donor community. We see both as an intrinsic part of one whole. Our motto is love must act & this small mighty community does everyday. Looking forward to another year of incredible work helping to rid the world of Human Trafficking and suffering.
I am proud, to know and support this amazing organization, Durga Tree International. The excel at raising awareness of this horrific thing called "modern slavery" and "human trafficking" but further their execution of on-the-ground grass roots initiatives are outstanding. This nonprofit does what it takes to honor their mission.
Durga Tree International has opened my eyes to so many things that are happening around me, most of which I was not aware of. Everyone involved in Durga Tree is honestly there to make a difference, we all chose to make a difference. We want everyone to have the freedom of choice in this world as well. Human trafficking has become slightly more prominent in the media and politics, but not enough. Durga Tree International is trying to change that, we want to educate, help, and maintain everyone on this topic.

My experience with Durga Tree International has been nothing less than amazing. Everyone has the same passion and drive to eradicate this terrible situation. Durga Tree puts all its efforts in to helping in as many ways possible by education, fundraising, and immersion trips to get the full experience. I am truly honored to have come across this group of people, and to be able to help support this cause.
Being so involved with this organization not only opens your eyes to the reality of human trafficking all around the world but what you can do in everyday life to help change it. This organization really works hard to encourage these survivors to thrive. With the start of their Bloom Program in several locations they will be doing even more of a service to these young women and children to help establish a skill to be able to provide for themselves and their families, rather than be trafficked again because of money. I am so proud to be able to work along side everyone at Durga Tree and make such an impact!
P.S. - Their events are always so much fun!
I am so proud to be apart of such a wonderful nonprofit. Durga Tree International Inc is such an inspiration. Bringing awareness and educating those who don't realize just how prominent human trafficking is in the black market. As an employee in the airlines industry, I know I am surrounded by this daily. I have never felt so connected to a nonprofit before. Durga's mission is the driving factor to help fight to end modern day slavery!

I am very proud to be a donor and volunteer for Durga Tree International. In just over a year, the money they have raised to help eradicate human trafficking and promote the continued growth of people who have been saved from the international slave trade is beyond remarkable. The care and hard work that Beth and Tim Tiger and Jess Hoertel put into Durga is inspiring. In addition to taking part in the Walk with Ambe in May, I also attended the Gala in 2013 and will be volunteering at the Gala this year. Both events were so delightful and put together so well due to their diligence and attention to every detail. Their integrity is beyond reproach and I can't wait to help them in the months and years to come make Durga Tree an internationally known name and force against the plight of human trafficking and slavery.
I first heard about Durga Tree International shortly after they started their important work in India. Working with survivors of sex trafficking, DTI saw past the immediate need of food and shelter and crafted a motivational and inspiring program to give this incredibly young women real skills to thrive in the world. That was a creative, and much needed development in helping to end the cycle of slavery (many people will re-traffic themselves if they can't earn a living wage elsewhere!).
I was impressed with the seriousness of their work, and the deeply felt sense of personal responsibility I encountered with the team who founded the effort. I joined their international advisory board and got to know their work more deeply - every new layer revealed a thoughtful, caring, and serious approach to tackling the daunting challenge of ending modern slavery.
Today, I work with the New England Chapter of this outstanding group. I feel confident, knowing that my donations of time and money are well spent and leveraged fully to make an important difference in the world!
This is just a huge feel good nonprofit organization. Great work, great people and the opportunity to see directly the good their fundraising and volunteering does. I've been blessed to be involved in this organization on many levels (volunteering, donating and working) since its inception and it has always been a rewarding and humbling experience. My husband and I will continue to work with them as long as they will have us!
Durga Tree International is committed to raising awareness and educating the public about the epidemic of Modern Day Slavery. Durga Tree International is a non-profit organization that fosters the growth and success of charities working to eradicate human trafficking. Any donation ensures that their impact will be felt on a global level, changing the lives of survivors from every corner of the planet.
I have been involved in their many philanthropic events since their inception over two years ago. Their premier gala event this past November, the black-tie Masquerade ball, was an amazing opportunity to "give back." Through the efforts of the founders, Beth and Tim Tiger and many others, well over $200,000 has been raised since its inception . I have also participated in their many other fundraising efforts. In March of 2015, I traveled to Guatemala to participate in the first Volunteer Immersion Excursion. This immersion trip gave all those, who participated, an authentic “first look” at the faces of human trafficking by visiting a shelter populated with rescued victims. Through this service immersion, I have stretched myself and grown tremendously, full able to translate my awareness into continuing the fight against trafficking. I fully applaud the efforts of all those involved in Durga Tree International. It's about "walking the talk" .... something that they do every single day. I am proud to be able to give back to this organization and to everything that it stands for.

I am a proud supporter of Durga Tree International. Their work in spreading awareness and improving the lives of abused children is commendable and admirable. The hard work and dedication devoted by this organization is incredible. The stories shared with me of the trip to South America, were touching and heart warming. I look forward to supporting them again soon!
I had the wonderful opportunity of fundraising and participating in Durga's Annual Lacing Up for freedom walk this past May. Not only was the purpose of the walk inspiring but the fundraiser itself was well run! It was also exciting to know Durga exceeded their fundraising goal for the event! I'm delighted and blessed to be a part of this amazing organization.
Durga Tree is an amazing organization with a very special mission. And, it has the most genuine, heartfelt people working towards it. Beth, Jess, and Kendra all pour their hearts into the goal of eradicating human trafficking. I was blessed to be able to attend their annual service immersion trip last spring and it truly changed my life.
Durga does work that is vitally important. They partner with groups who work to stop the crime of human trafficking. Great people, great work, great charity.
I got involved with Durga Tree because of my connection to one of the founders, Jess, and I have not regretted it since! I am proud to say I walked in their first "Lacing Up for Freedom" in 2014 and it was such a fun-filled, powerful day. The event was well planned and well attended, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much the young organization was able to raise. I have been a supporter ever since and I have come to expect the high level of transparency in everything they do. It makes me feel good to see exactly where my donations are going and know that they are making a difference.
Being a part of the Durga Tree family has been great this past year! I love seeing how everyone comes together to help each other change the world for the better!
I started volunteering for The Durga Tree International last year, and my life has been forever changed. This organization is more like a family, one that will do whatever it takes to change the lives of others. Seeing this organization change the lives of people in need gives me hope for our world.

As an organization that prides ourselves on transparency and reporting, we are sorry if you have had difficulty with finding any of our information. Since our 2013 inception, we have been posting financial information onto the GuideStar.com website (a partner to this site), to supplement the information that the IRS also posts on our behalf. It takes two months, if not more, after we file our 990 with the IRS for it to appear on GuideStar. The 2015 forms are currently being processed and so are not yet available. We also post information on that site about programming, our board members, etc. Because of the amount and type of information we provide, we have actually been awarded the GuideStar Gold award for the past three years and are currently working toward the Platinum level. Anyone who wants to few our financials can visit the site, but then needs to create a free account in order to view the specifics. On the other hand, anyone who reaches out to us directly will be provided with the requested document (as stated, currently 2013 and 2014 are available). On our website, at the very bottom by our EIN number, you can find current links to both the 2014 990 form and our 301(c)3 approval letter. We appreciate all of our donors and supporters and, again, want to portray total transparency in the important work we are doing, both in the US and abroad. Hopefully this information is helpful to you and, possibly, causes you to reconsider the low rating you have given us. We want to ensure the continued support of our donors to secure the sustainable success of our programs. If you have any other questions, please reach out to us directly at info@DurgaTreeInternational.org

Can't believe all I heard about human slavery so glad we have Durga tree international keep us aware and commited to make a change !!
Keep up the awesome work ...
Wonderful people on a mission to help those who most need it. Love being a part of this amazing group. There is no room in this world at this time in our human history for any form of slavery. Any person who considers themselves civilized is responsible to enforce personal freedom in all aspects of the term.
I first was introduced to The Durga Tree International from a family friend. When I started volunteering, I didn't know much about the organization, only that it helped to end modern day slavery. After helping out and spending time around the organization, I realized that this wasn't just a group to help children out of trafficking, but this was a family who believe that every single human being deserves a fair life. Volunteering with this organization has changed my life in such a short time. The Durga Tree International gives me hope for humanity.
I worked as a summer high school intern with Durga Tree International, and it was a great experience. Everyone on the team is hard-working, determined, intelligent, and creative. The main goal of Durga Tree is to apread awareness of human trafficking and to support bigger, in-actional organizations that rescue slaves and give them housing, education, and justice. I'm proud to have worked with this fantastic organization!
The commitment to eradicate human trafficking have no equal as organization . In a little time had great result that is tangible ,
new shelter in India and break ground for a new school in Africa and much more .
Durga Tree International is a heart centered nonprofit, helping to save lives one step at a time. All of their efforts to eradicate human trafficking has been very positive. They're saving lives, and will continue to do so.
Durga tree is a culmination of great spirits for a great cause to preserve humanities greatest & most precious beings..our children
The Guatemala immersion was an amazing experience.... I am looking forward to other immersion trips with the folks from Durga Tree International. One step at a time, Durga is helping to make a difference in a child's life.
So proud to be able to say that I have worked with this organization on their major fundraisers. Their dedication and professionalism are inspiring, and it great to see how they are able to draw others into the cause. For only having been around just over two years, they have accomplished so much and are only getting bigger!

Durga Tree International is a legitimate 501C3 non-profit who is helping to end human trafficking. I have donated and volunteered at some of the charity events they have held and feel confident that the proceeds go directly to the cause. One of Durga’s founders and Executive Administrator, Jessica Hoertel, was very willing to answer any questions I had regarding the nonprofit and proceeds. The US culture is so egocentric and materialistic that we are oblivious to how much we, with our everyday actions, impact the slave trade throughout the world. Durga Tree is helping to open our eyes as well as supporting other nonprofits that are fighting to end human trafficking. I love the fact that they are not in competition with other human trafficking non profits and are in fact big supporters of working together for a common goal.
I am always proud to work with such a great organization. The people at Durga Tree really care. The Guatemala immersion was so amazing, we really got to see first hand how Durgas work impacts these girls

I am so excited to be able to see my donations have a direct effect on the lives of trafficking survivors, from the shelter in India to the continuing care of the children in Cameroon and well beyond. I think Durga Tree does a great job showing us, just regular people, that not only does trafficking exist , but it is in our own backyard and we have the power to stop it!
Beth Tiger and the whole Durga Tree community have done some wonderful things to end human trafficking! I applaud the team and can't think of a better cause to support! May they continue to save women and children around the globe!
I became unemployed a couple months ago and really wanted to spend my new free time volunteering. After some research, my mom came across Durga Tree International on Instagram and we both felt strong emotional connection on their mission to end human slavery and modern trafficking. I started my research on Durga Tree Int'l and loved the events they hold each year such as the Athleta Fashion Show, Lacing up for Freedom, and Clear Clutter for a Cause. As well as the volunteer immersion trips they do every year to help nationally and internationally. This organization not only fundraises to help themselves, but also to help other organizations that have the same goals.
I met with Kendra DeBree first at their office in Ramsey to discuss how I can help, and when I left that day I knew I had found the organization for me. She was so passionate talking about how she ended up with Durga Tree and what they stand for. I finally got to meet Beth Tiger at the Athleta Fashion Show. It was the first event I volunteered for and will be one of many. The volunteers who keep Durga Tree Int'l going are such role models. They are dedicated to educating and helping the people around them. I hope one day I will have as much of an affect on peoples lives as they do.

I have come to know these people well and their dedication to abolishing slavery and human trafficking is ingrained in who they are. They provide well needed funds to partner organizations working on the streets, around the world. I believe in what they do and I know that they are making a difference!

Durga Tree saves lives - period. I am proud to be an advocate for this organization and help to raise awareness around the topic of Eradicating Human Slavery. Why is Durga different (and amazing)? They raise money to fund the grass root organizations who actually save our kids, give them shelter and education. By raising money and funding efforts, the groups that do the actual work can do just that; focus on saving, housing and educating kids to live the lives they deserve. Wow . . . And a bonus is my 5 year old daughter is already involved and is learning about freedom, human rights and how she can give back. The Durga organizational team is professional, driven and strong and their commitment is the real-deal. I love being a part of this incredible organization!

Being associated with Durga Tree has been a fulfilling experience because I know that my contributions are being used to their utmost potential to aid in eradicating this crime against humanity. The passionate work initiated towards this cause by Tim and Beth Tiger, and Jess Hoertel have shown me that this is where I would like to continue to donate my efforts. Keep up the hard work!
From the germination of this idea through implementation, Beth and Tim Tiger lead with a clear passion for this cause. It is a privilege to work with them to support this mission in whatever way I can.
Durga Tree has been an inspiration to us all. When there was a need, Beth, Tim and Jess stepped in to help out. Human trafficking is a cancer that has been ignored for centuries. Durga Tree is not only educating and increasing awareness about human trafficking, but they are making an impact in such a short time. My daughters and I participated in the walkathon this spring. We were overwhelmed by the supportive and loving community that showed up to make a change! Being a part of Durga Tree makes me proud that I can participate in this crusade to help people all over the world get back on their feet and make a life for themselves. Just knowing that lives are being saved due to Durga's efforts is a blessing! The devotion of Beth, Tim, Jess and the team is unlike anything I've ever experienced. They've committed their lives to making a difference, and their enthusiasm is contagious!
Being stripped of your freedoms, forced into slavery of any sort, exploited, abused, having no control over your life or future, feeling abandoned or forgotten by society and living in despair.. Victims of human and sexual trafficking experience each and every one of those atrocities every day and too many people are willing to turn a blind eye to them. Not Tim and Beth Tiger nor Jess Hoertel. Not Durga Tree International. When I learned that Beth, Tim and Jess were forming Durga Tree I immediately offered to assist them in anyway that I could and have proudly served as their Charities Liaison since day 1. Not only were they taking action, they were creating a new model of charitable giving. One that allows a donors dollar to be felt all across the globe and one that ensures that all donations go straight into specific projects. We like to call it conscious collaboration, everyone working together toward the common goal of eradicating slavery and abolishing human trafficking. I have traveled into some of the darkest corners on the planet with Beth, Tim and Jess and in addition to bringing funding to so many amazing small charities along the way, they and Durga bring the gift of love and hope. What has been accomplished by Durga Tree since it's inception is astonishing and I look forward to a long standing partnership with them. Visit our website and get involved. We need all the help we can get.. This is a big mission!
Immediately upon meeting Beth Tiger, CEO of Durga Tree International, I knew I had walked into something beautiful--and something BIG.
Beth emanates true leadership for the cause which has no doubt paved the way for Durga's first wave of success since its inception one year ago. The newspaper article about their fundraiser for " Walk With Ambe" was compelling enough for me to pay a visit to one of the best anti- human trafficking nonprofits I know, in my home town nonetheless.
I value the transparency that the organization has and the sincere intentions that they have so thoughtfully woven and continue to weave into every aspect of their work. As successful as they have been as a start up, I believe that they have tremendous potential to keep growing and advancing with the same speed, if not even more. The organization has this magical quality to it and I think it is their unwavering commitment that infectiously draws people in and their work is no doubt being supported by a higher power whether you call that Justice or God.
Durga Tree International is a community of caring hearts who have united for a most just cause and one of the largest injustices of our time. As far as I am concerned, Durga Tree isn't going anywhere; they are here to stay. And I am ever so glad, as an educator for Women's Studies and a fellow human being, that I found them. So too, will many women and girls around the world feel the same as they are touched by Durga Tree International.
"Love never fails" (1 Corinthians 13).
Durga Tree International has really brought awareness as to the global as well as local aspects, affects and impacts of human trafficking to my eyes and community with such professionalism and sincerity. Not only have we donated to this cause financially but have committed our professional services because of the strong belief we have in what they are able to accomplish.
I have participated in an event sponsored by Durga Tree International and am impressed by their high level of professionalism, transparency and commitment to end human trafficking. Based upon my experience at their first annual walkathon I highly recommend supporting Durga Tree and know that they are making an impact to eliminate human trafficking.
About 4 years ago I was at a seminar and my eyes were opened to the injustices of slavery/human trafficking throughout the world. Then 2 years ago I found myself at the grand opening of A Life Well Lived and met Beth Tiger. Over these years I have gotten to know both Beth & Tim Tiger in greater depth and what they are doing is amazing. As the founders of Durga Tree International they are helping to eradicate human slavery in this world. They are both so dedicated to this cause and are such an inspiration. Originally I thought that slavery was something that happened in other countries, not here in America. Boy was I wrong. It is such an injustice to have one’s freedom taken from them.
Durga Tree International is a highly valuable conduit in matching donor generosity to the real needs of non-profits so that TOGETHER we can tackle human trafficking. As an executive at Covenant House International (Casa Alianza in Latin America) and partner of Durga, I am continuously impressed by the smart thinking, compassion and excellence in everything they do. It's a true honor and pleasure to work with such a conscientious, committed group.
Loved working with the group and will continue to work with them. Very organized, very caring and truly committed to the cause
Transparent organization with a mission to bring awareness to our fight. It's important for me to know that my donations are going to the right resources 100% of the time. ..thank you Durga!
Over the past year I have attended two of Durga Tree International's quality fundraising events and witnessed the extraordinary growth of this inspiring organization. I'm so impressed by their ability to research, recognize, and directly assist those on the ground in the global fight against human trafficking.
The future is very bright for Durga Tree - the capability, creativity, and caring are all there. Their tireless work reminds me daily of my own responsibility as a first world consumer - to do my best to determine whether the products I purchase are helping or hurting someone unseen.
I feel so energized as a new Board Member of Durga Tree International. Beth, Tim and the amazing team inspire me every day and I hope to become an integral part of eradicating human trafficking within this amazing organization.
I am totally psyched about my role as youth ambassador for Durga Tree International. I witness a lot of young people not paying attention to the issues and problems kids our own age face in less fortunate areas around the world and even here in the USA. It's hard for me to believe that some kids don't have the freedoms I do. I hope to awareness for a cause that often goes unnoticed by so many that have so much and take it for granted.
I am proud to be a part of this charity that is working so hard to end this terrible situation. I encourage any young person looking for a place to serve to get involved.
I have both worked with Durga Tree and am a very happy donor. Based on my experience in the not for profit sector, I can attest to the organization's integrity and effectiveness in serving their member charities. They have outstanding leadership and have demonstrated their efficiency in fund raising and charity impact. I highly recommend them.
As an Affiliate Foundation of Durga Tree International, we have had the privilege of working closely with them. Dedicated to eliminating human trafficking by raising funds for organizations with 'boots on the ground' in the war against human slavery in our day, they work tirelessly to see their vision become reality.
In May of 2014, Durga Tree hosted a Walk With Ambe to raise funds to help build Good Shepherd Academy in Cameroon, West Africa which protects vulnerable children from trafficking and other forms of exploitation. Their enthusiasm, professionalism, and attention to every detail resulted in a walk that far exceeded expectations with 100% of the profits going to our foundation. This is just one example of their fundraising work, held throughout the year, for their Affiliate Foundations. We are honored and grateful to Durga Tree for living up to their word and more.

Awareness, dedication, hard work, passion and perseverance are just a few words to describe what is needed to make the dream of ending human trafficking a reality. Durga Tree International works tirelessly towards that dream by working hand-in-hand with grass-roots organizations to understand and support the myriad of needs to not only eradicate slavery, but to educate and aid those directly affected by human trafficking. I choose to support Durga Tree International because of its mission and its transparency. Knowing that my donations go to organizations that are affecting positive change towards this global problem makes me confident in my choice to support Durga Tree International.
I have been working with Durga Tree International for the past year and am beyond impressed by the integrity, transparency, effectiveness and esprit de corps of this organization. As founder and Director of Made By Survivors/TEN Charities, I have had the opportunity to see scores of non profits in the human rights and anti-trafficking field. What makes Durga Tree unique in my experience is that before coming up with a plan to eradicate trafficking, they took the time to truly investigate the space, talking to stakeholders and partners in the field, in order to determine what the greatest needs were. They saw that there is a huge unmet need for project based funding and practical support, especially for smaller charities in the field. They set out to meet this need, and have worked tirelessly ever since, on behalf of our organization and survivors, as well as several other respected organizations. We are proud to be a partner of Durga Tree and look forward to seeing them continue to grow and thrive, through strong and committed leadership and a well-honed strategy for social change.
Durga Tree International was founded just over a year ago by Beth and Tim Tiger. Together, with the help of some volunteers, the Tigers have effectively began to grow Durga Tree into a very successful nonprofit. Durga Tree has been built on the premise that it is designed to help eradicate human trafficking around the world. The mission and goal of Durga Tree is to touch all corners of the world where young girls and boys, as well as adults, are being used as slaves. Over the past year, I personally have watched Durga grow from a small dream into a big reality. Durga has hosted many profitable fund raising events such as the Masquerade Ball and a 5K Run. As a result, they have managed to raise over $100,000 in just one short year. I can only imagine what the next year will bring! I cannot be prouder to be a part of this ever so supportive and productive cause.
