My father served at Dunkeswell, and he has donated materials for display. This museum keeps alive a very important part of England's heritage, as well as the friendship between the UK and USA. The curators have been very supportive and appreciative of the sacrifices made by both the American and British forces that served at Dunkeswell, so I urge everyone to support its continued existence in every way that you can.
My cousin Lt. John G. Byrnes was stationed at Dunkeswell during WWII. He was killed Aug 24, 1944. I would like to lend my support to preserve this important historical site. We often don't realize the importance of something until it is gone. Hopefully I will be able to visit the Museum some day.
This is a great and worthwhile organization. The work that they perform to honor the naval aviators who served at Dunkeswell is very honorable. They are very well deserved of support to continue their work. At this time they are looking into purchasing an existing building that served as the base administration.
